But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. He instantly warmed up and got along with everyone here as soon as we got him. Calvin is a Beagle mix, he's a bit of a bigger boy with his stubby legs- kind of like a super solid beagle but isn't short. Calvin loves getting attention, he'll bump you with his head so you notice and pay attention to him! He'll need a bit of leash work but is very eager to get to work! That is what people notice most about Calvin, is his eagerness. He will need slow introductions to other people and animals as he can warm up to others slowly sometimes. Wishbone is an awesome little guy who will make an amazing addition to any lucky household. He walks well on leash and loves to go on adventures. He is treat motivated, which will be great for training purposes. Wishbone is an active dog and will thrive in a home that can handle his energy and bounciness. He plays well with others and would be a great additional dog to a home or be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. He is a high jumper and will require a tall fence and good handling. We recommend no small children or dog-savvy children as he is still learning some manners and can be bouncy. Wishbone is so loving and has one of the softest coats and amazing eyes! Animal Profile: Chai is a sweet beagle mix that was found as a baby in Del Rio, TX. We love her unique, hairless muzzle because it's a sign of all she went through. Chai was very sick with puppy strangles, but she survived and is now thriving in her foster home. She can be a little unsure about new things, but with a little help from her furry friends and foster parents, she is learning that the world is a wonderful place! Chai would do best in a home outside the city as she will be overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle. She would love her own fenced yard, and needs at least one other dog in her forever home. Foster Update: Chai is a little love bug! She quickly made friends with the resident dogs in her foster home, and will follow wherever they go. She plays with her paws like a little cat, and snuggles up like one too. Chai can be a little unsure about new places, but she has been learning that things are not so bad here in Washington. She has had a chance to explore lush green gardens, sandy beaches, and seems to enjoy a good car ride. He is used to being by himself as his foster parents work. He lives with two doggie brothers but has not been tested with kitties. He is still a puppy, so he has some puppy energy and is playful. Gemma is a very sweet and loving dog, she's still young (2 years). She has the typical Beagle and Dachshund behaviors and she gets bored so she needs an experienced adopter especially one familiar with small hunting breeds. She does not do well in the kennel and needs someone to be home during the day or a home without cats where she can be out while she's alone. We did a trial run with one family who had cats and they didn't keep her in the kennel while they were gone and had no issues, however her cats were stressed out so they weren't able to keep her, that's the reason why we're rehoming her, she needs a home without cats and we have a few. When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away!
