Amber is estimated to be around 2 years old, she’s perfectly lap sized at 32 pounds. We believe she’s a beagle, dachshund mix but she is a rescue, so these are our best guesses. She is a beloved member of their home, living like a welcomed guest. Her foster family brags that she’s crate trained, and goes in quietly for a little treat. Usually, she’ll sleep in her crate all night, but on occasion her foster family will let her sleep on the couch instead. They say that when she’s allowed to free roam all night, she’s perfectly well behaved, making no messes. With new people, Amber can take a moment to warm up. She’ll watch from afar until she’s decided you’re friendly, then she approaches for a little affection! Once she knows you, she’s very affectionate, but not overly needy- a perfect combination. She’s a total old-lady type. She doesn’t bark or whine at new people, she has wonderful manners. Amber loves toys. She has a favorite little stuffie, an airplane. She’s not destructive with her toys, and can be trusted with them overnight. The perfect little lady that she is, most of the time, you can find Amber patiently waiting for her next bellyrub while laying on the couch. We believe Amber would be happiest in a home as the only dog, but she could live with dog-savvy kitties! She loves kids and would love life as a family dog. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. She can climb chain linked fences so much be in a secure yard with a privacy fence or an apartment. When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. She is a very medium/small sized beagle/chi mix, she is housebroken and likes to let people know when she needs to go out by pawing at your legs. Loves to cuddle with you, she can be a velcro dog sometimes and will make your couch her permanent home!. Honey doesn't like to share her affection with others and is adoptable into a single dog/animal home. She does tolerate the foster mom's kitties but honestly she would really love to be the center of someone's life. She has MORE than enough love and devotion to fill your heart every day.
