Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.        Hey there, humans! I’m Kenny, a super, mega sweet 8-year-old beagle boy on the lookout for my forever retirement home. I’m all about good vibes. I love dogs of all sizes as well as my wonderful human companions! I’m a well-mannered guy who prefers to keep my living space accident-free. Just give me a little time to adjust to my new routine and I promise I’ll let you know when I need to go outside. Cuddling? Oh, it’s one of my absolute favorite things! And don’t even get me started on doggie treats… they’re simply to die for! Honestly, I’m pretty much the perfect little guy, but I do have one tiny quirk: Big stairs. Nope, not for me! Those things look a little too scary! I can handle the small steps of about 5 or 6, but when it comes to the big ones, nope! My foster family loves to spoil me by carrying me up like my own private elevator. Hehe! I can manage going down just fine, though. Despite my little quirks, I promise I’m a very good boy ready to find my forever home with a loving family.   If you think you might be the perfect fit for me, please visit our website to learn more about bringing me home. I can’t wait to meet you! Story
Meet Tucker, our lovable 6-year-old senior pup who's ready to steal your heart! This charming male dog is the epitome of sweetness, with a gentle temperament that's sure to melt your heart. Tucker adores spending time outdoors, whether it's soaking up the sun or enjoying a leisurely stroll. Tucker is not just a great companion; he's also a treat enthusiast who never says no to a tasty snack. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a loving home where he can share his affection with his new family. With his charming personality and affectionate nature, Tucker would make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a furry friend to love. Our veterinarian believes Tucker may have some damage to his spine which causes him to limp on his front left leg. However, this does not stop him from running through the pasture. Tucker will need a home with a fenced yard. This handsome boy is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped, ready to embark on his next adventure with his forever family.

Story
Bunny sounds like an amazing companion! An adult female beagle hound mix who loves swimming and boat rides would bring so much joy to a family. Her playful nature and love for water make her a perfect fit for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures. This pet is eligible for the PETS FOR PATRIOTS adoption program. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2010881##

Story
Scarlet is a 3-year-old beagle with a heart of gold and a zest for life. She spent her early years being raised as a hunting and breeding dog, living in a concrete kennel outdoors, but now she’s ready to leave her past behind and find a loving home with greener pastures. Though she’s a bit new to the joys of indoor life, Scarlet is quickly learning to love the comforts of a cozy couch, and she’s already showing her true, sweet personality. She enjoys exploring outdoors, sniffing around, and taking in the sights and smells, but once inside, she’s a total couch potato who loves to curl up and relax. Scarlet is also a huge fan of belly rubs and will happily roll over for a scratch whenever you’re nearby. Scarlet is a confident girl who’s currently the dominant one over her kennel mate, so she may do best in a home with a more submissive dog who can match her energy and respect her space. She’s a loving, affectionate pup who enjoys attention and will thrive in a home where she can receive all the care and affection she deserves. Scarlet is up to date on her vaccines and will be spayed and microchipped in the coming weeks. She’s ready for a new start and a family who will give her all the love she’s been missing. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and playful companion who is ready to start the next chapter of her life, Scarlet might be the perfect match!
