Story
Benny has never met a stranger. He loves almost everyone he meets, although he is a little anxious around small children. He is great with other dogs. His personality has been described as goofy. Do you see his beautiful Bette Davis eyes? Benny would make a great second dog. Benny had a fractured leg. He has had FHO surgery 3/2023 and is all healed. He puts weight on the leg but may have a limp. Katie T. has become Benny's Guardian Angel In Honor of her Grandmother. Benny comes to us from a crowded rural southwestern Virginia shelter.  Breed: beagle/hound Gender: Male DOB: approximately 5/2022 Size potential: 35 pounds PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Say hi to OhGong👋 a sweet, friendly boy with a charming black muzzle! He was found on the street in South Korea at 3 months old and taken to a high-risk city shelter along with his five other siblings. Luckily, they were rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and started living with other dogs in the local shelter. Despite some time spent at the shelter, Ohgong was given a chance to live in his current foster home in June 2023. His current foster family has been taking good care of him since, and Ohgong has learned how to harmoniously live with people with love, and now he is ready to find his forever home😊 • Personality: Friendly, Sweet, Gentle Just like when OhGong was widely known for his super friendly personality among the shelter staff, he continued to be very loving and sweet to his foster family. He loves to kiss you and be petted by you. His energy level is medium. He is usually calm at home but becomes active when playing with toys! Plus, he is such a gentle walker. • Affinity with - Dogs: Very dog-friendly! He doesn’t even bark towards other dogs. - Cats: He tends to chase cats out of curiosity but doesn’t show aggression. - Adults/Kids: Good with people in general but a little bit shy around male adults / Okay with kids. He is rather indifferent to them. • Walking Manners: Super well-mannered! Pacing with his person without pulling the leash. He responds to “Let’s go” while sniffing around. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, going potty outdoors as well as using pee-pads indoors • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both very well. • Car Rides: Very comfortable with car rides. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Separation Anxiety: None. He showed some signs of separation anxiety at the beginning of foster, but not anymore when two months of foster passed. He spends most of his time sleeping while he is left alone at home. • Barks/Howls: Almost none. Just a little bit of barking only when greeting his family at home. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: OhGong LOOOVES playing with toys, especially squeaky ones! He seems to even prefer toys to treats. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Ohgong, please don't hesitate to apply!

He is a true social butterfly, and may get a little FOMO if he isn't included in your outings. As long as he is with his people, he is happy. This playful, cuddly, sweet dog would thrive in a house with a fenced yard, where he can run through the cool grass, and do all the sniffing! Bennett wants to meet you, so contact Lost Dog ASAP!

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Sadie is a sweet senior pup looking for the perfect place to relax and enjoy life! Sadie has just joined the Lost Dog ranks from North Carolina and is still getting used to life here in VA. She has come to us fleeing the floods of NC, ready to take on any challenge she may face here in VA. We are still getting to know Sadie, what we do know is that she is a sweet, peppy girl with lots of love left to give. Sadie is a Beagle mix with a unique tan/white coat. She is not a spring chicken at 9 years old and therefore has some limitations in her vision. That’s why you see her wearing her specialized “halo” connected to her harness which lets others know she is visually impaired and protects her eyes while letting her know when she bumps into something. She’s a trooper though and has been confidently walking around our facility in her few days with us. She has some weight to lose with a current weight of 30lbs and will benefit from a home with a strict diet and fun routine for her to get comfortable. If you promise everlasting love, Sadie will return it exponentially. Don’t let this girly pass you by! As we learn more about this gem, please check back later for more details!
