Story
Hi! I am Biggie Smalls - or 'Buddy' - a charming and uniquely adorable 6.5-year-old who is searching for a new forever home after a long period of uncertainty in my life. I am a lovable mix of big-dog confidence and cozy-cuddle vibes, with my kinda-Corgi good looks and expressive brown eyes. I am looking for people who can offer me the attention and consistency I crave. I have a moderate energy level, which means I can be relaxed sometimes and playful at others. I do best with daily walks (and walk well on a leash!) and some mental stimulation; I love eating from my snuffle mat. I would love a yard in my new home where I can stretch my legs and explore. I am responsible around the house - my foster parents say I've had zero accidents! I'm also good while my people are away; I might cry a little but I'll settle down and sleep until you're back. I am a great co-pilot on car trips. I love my toys, but don't worry, I won't chew on anything that's not my toy! I'm pretty chill and will follow you around the house because I just want to be in the same area as you. I also know when it's bedtime and head to my bed and wait for my people to tuck me in. I can be a little stubborn and do things on my own time, but I'm learning commands and will just need your help to continue to learn! Let's find a new adventure together, and I promise to bring lots of love and charm into your life! To meet me fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 7, 2024, 6:37 am

Story
**Fostered in Bellevue, WA and ready for meet and greets!** If you put happy, silly, and enthusiastic into a fun size package- you get Sam Moot. He is a bundle of friendly energy and his playful nature basically scares away any traces of a bad day. He’s a friendly guy who loves people and is eager to please. His love for cuddles and joy for everything life has to offer are going to make him such a fantastic companion! Take a peak at him here then come back to read more about him. https://youtu.be/mSgBrSG5NWU Sam is estimated to be 1 year old and weighs 27lbs. , and is on the larger side of the small dog spectrum. With any rescue breed and age are not details we can offer with a guarantee but we believe Sam is a bit of a puggle, maybe some pug maybe some beagle. Sam has great basic leash skills and is walk ready. He’s generally good on leash, he stays calm and is easy to handle. It is important to understand that Sam is the friendly-type, he wants to greet the world and knows no stranger. Whether he goes to them or they come to him, if you head out of the house together leave a few extra minutes for the greetings and comments about you super cute dog. Sam is great with kids but his eagerness to play would be a bit too much for littles. When we introduced Sam to other dogs we learned quickly- this boy loves to play! He would love a home with a playmate that has a similar zest for bouncy play, his favorite playmate was a female dog that was just slightly bigger than him but just as rough and tumble. He is friendly, greeted new dogs well on and off leash, and when he isn’t running and playing he is happy to just hang out and check in with people for a little love and maybe a treat. Sam’s ideal home is flexible, he absolutely could be an apartment boy thanks to his friendliness, size, and overall quiet nature. If you have a house that is awesome too, more space for zoomies! An ideal dog pairing would be an energetic playful pup. If you are looking to be an one-dog house, this boy s a great candidate! People fill up his love tank and he has the love of at least two dogs to share so you won’t ever go love-starved. As far as cats go, Sam could easily have a feline-friend with just basic guidance. He’s not shy about following a cat around, even after a gentle swat, so a home with a dog-savvy cat that can handle his curiosity would be best. Sam is a quick learner with lots of love to give, and with a bit of polishing he is sure to shine as a loyal, fun-loving family member. If you think Sam might be the perfect fit for you, don’t hesitate to reach out and meet this affectionate little guy! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Needs special attention,
Story
Trixie is a special needs basset. Rescued dogs frequently arrive with a lot of unanswered questions. We and our vets think Trixie was born with a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia or CH. A part of her brain did not fully develop leaving her with balance issues, difficulty judging distance, and clumsiness to the point where walking is really not an option for her. Even with all her challenges, she is able to get around the house and navigate a couple of steps. She can pretty much get anywhere she wants to go. After trying Trixie in both a 2- and 4-wheel cart, we have started to investigate a modified cart specifically for CH dogs. She is too wobbly to use the 2- and 4-wheel carts. Aside from this condition, Trixie is happy and healthy. She does great with other dogs (although she doesn't play) and is expected to have a normal lifespan. Our vet suggests that her coordination could benefit from some regular physical therapy. We plan to start that just after the first of the year when things slow down a bit. If you are interested in Trixie, please give UFBH a call and/or fill out the application and talk with us about her condition.

Story
This cheerful boy will win your heart with his happy smile. About seven years old, Kody is just starting his senior years and is a low-key fellow with his golden years ahead to share with the right person. He is friendly but doesn't need constant attention. A calm and independent boy who is content to simply be with his people, smelling all the smells, and enjoying the occasional roll in the grass or dirt. Life is full of simple pleasures and Kody knows how to appreciate them.Kody is a big, tri-color Basset boy who came to the rescue quite overweight. Although he has slimmed down some, he'll need help from his new people to manage his weight. Kody was heartworm positive when he arrived but has completed treatment and is heartworm free! He can resource guard food so he needs a home that can carefully manage food and feeding times to help him avoid negative behaviors. A home without small children would be best. Kody would likely do well as an only dog or with an easy-going canine sibling. This happy guy will make an amazing companion for the right person. Could that be you?

Story
Shirley (with blue eyes) and LaVerne are a bonded pair; pretty much sisters! They were rescued while living on their own and trying to survive the wild coyotes that were attacking them. In spite of this horrible experience, both are loving and friendly with both people and other dogs. LaVerne and Shirley will need to be adopted together. These are two very special girls who will bring much love and Basset-ness to any home they join.
