Story
7 year-old Dallas was an owner surrender. Despite having heart worms and kneecaps that dislocate easily, Dallas is a lively boy who loves to run after toys that are thrown! Dallas is around 15+ inches tall and a 32 pounds. Dallas is house broken with the use of a dog door. He leaves things alone except the many toys he finds to paly with! He loves to play tug of war with his foster siblings as well as beagle style fetch…you throw it and then chase after him to get it back! Dallas is a sweet, loving boy who can be very loud and vocal when crated. Both heart worm injections and knee surgery would require crate rest for a month or more for this boy. We have decided to do slow kill treatment for the heart worms with a year’s supply of Advantage Multi. Dallas will also need joint meds to make life comfortable. HBHR will pay for knee surgery if needed down the road. Apply today to give this wonderful boy a second chance at the Good Life!

Story
Howie is a sweet 2 y/o Tree Walking Coon Hound. He was found in League City, TX at a tractor supply where he had been abandoned. Howie is now full grown weighing around 40 pounds. Howie’s manners are good with and without a dog door. He has learned the word “no” well. He is very food motivated so this makes training easier! He is very sweet with kids and other dogs. He has a beautiful hound bay and will bark at almost any new noise to make sure you are safe. Howie loves to play with other pups and would do best in a home where another younger hound could wear him out! He gets at least one walk a day, though normally two, and is very good on the leash. He does bark at other dogs and people out of excitement, but he is never aggressive toward them. Howie is a toy dog and can often be found at night tossing his toys into the air to entertain himself. He loves puzzle toys, and tug of war/Fetch. I often have to say, “he is just a boy!” because he acts so silly. He flops down on top of you, and just does not know how big he is, he is so snuggly, and really loves to be loved on by his person. Howie would make an excellent addition to your family, especially to wear out another pup! Apply today to make this lanky boy a part of your family! PS This boy can jump! He will need a tall fence in a secure yard to keep him from going on adventures.

Story
Bagel is a 7 yr old male who was found stray in Galveston last summer. He was a whopping 55 lbs when he finally made it to HBHR in the winter and now down to an impressive 42 lbs after being on a diet and exercise regimen in his foster home. Even with a slight arthritic limp on his back right leg caused by the weight he will beg for and be ready at the door for his walkies . He can be better on the leash but for weight loss purposes we sped up for him a bit. Bagel is completely house broken, including mastering a dog door. He is great with kids. He will be ok as an only dog or with canine buddies, but no cats! Oh, and a great car rider! Overall, Bagel will need a home where he can lounge around , but also commit to continuing his daily exercise and diet regimen and most importantly love him the way he deserves.

Please contact Sagermark for more information about this pet. This sweet girl was picked up with her 7 puppies when they were 5 days old from a construction site. She is sweet and gentle, good with kids, other dogs and cats. She had never had a bath before and was a little scared but did very well. She is housebroken and has not had an accident in the house. She is super chill and just wants to be with her people and lay around. She loves laying in her bed which I think is her first. She is not a jumper and is learning how to play. She has been spayed, up to date on her vaccinations. She is heartworm positive and currently on medication. We are working in walking in a leash and learning how to sit. Please open your heart and home to this sweet girl. November 12, 2024, 3:49 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello! I'm Bonnie, a spirited beagle with a zest for life. My day revolves around walks through the neighborhood and riding shotgun in the car where I eagerly take in the passing scenery. When it is chill-out time, I like to retreat to my kennel and engross in my favorite pastime- chewing on bones. I love to sit with you and have you stroke my big floppy ears. I love my crate and do all my business outside. I may come off a bit guarded at first but only because it takes me time to warm up to new human and canine faces. I am also not a fan of cats- just not my cup of tea. I'm looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me feel secure and loved. I tend to resource guard my things so a home with older children or adults who can understand this would be ideal. I promise to repay you with kindness and loyalty. Need a walking and riding companion who will be your best friend? Apply to meet me today!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Cooper Davis, a 5-7 year-old, 30lb. Beagle mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Cooper and his buddy were found as strays on the streets. Although their owner was located, they were unable to continue caring for them, so now Cooper and his buddy are in CAMO's care in the Houston area, eagerly searching for their forever home. He loves humans, dogs and would be great with older kids. Will bark at cats, but not hurt them. He loves walks and human snuggles. He's doing great on potty training..consistency is key. Since he is a beagle aka love to dig and escape, would need a safe yard and eyes on him. Cooper is a happy-go-lucky boy who gets along wonderfully with other mild-mannered dogs. His gentle and friendly nature makes him a great companion for older kids, and he would be an excellent family dog. Cooper's adaptable personality means he would thrive in any loving environment. While Cooper is a smart boy who takes direction well, he will need an adopter committed to maintaining a consistent routine to continue his house training, as he was likely kept outside in the past. With patience and love, Cooper is sure to become a well-mannered and loyal companion. Cooper is heart worm positive but the rescue is treating him for it. Adoption fee is: $300.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
Bronson is a package deal. His life long friend, Phoenix (in picture), must go with him. She is a matli-poo mix. Both dogs are trained well. I originally adopted Bronson on my way out of the Marine Corps in Aug of 2012. He was just turning 1 when I adopted him. I trained him well over 6 months,. I havent walked him with a leash for over 11 years now. Hes trained very well in that way, as well as general commands to direct him towards, away, sit or lay as a command before eating, etc. and both dogs do this well. He had spine surgery in 2019 so his speacial needs is he has a hard time walking so he must be carried up and down stairs and will need regular checkups and need 3-4 daily medications to manage pain and inflammation. Phoenix is a little more of the free spirit. Although she is trained well, she thinks every person and kid she sees is her friend. She will listen to not go towards them, but her initial instinct is to walk towards them. On leash they are essentially perfect.

These pups are in Tomball, Texas too!

Story
Sadie & Emma are litter mates who have been crated most of their 4 years of life. They were allowed out for bathroom breaks but trained to return to the crate immediately. It took a week for them to realize that they could come and go through the dog door whenever they wanted. As Bassett mixes, they are big girls who weigh over 60 pounds. Their house manners are great now that they use the dog door with confidence! They both can be a bit on the lazy side but pop up quickly if they hear the call for some squirrel hunting! They each can be playful and wrestle with other pack mates but rarely together. They need the exercise to tone up their muscles! Both girls enjoy having some loving. They rarely are demanding but are so happy to see you and receive their share of pets! !Overall, they are sweet girls who will make a wonderful addition to any family!
