Hello future forever, for real this time, family. Get your tissue ready because I have a super sad story to tell you about my last owner.  Six years ago I was rescued from a shelter by a man who is a long distance truck driver .  He took me on the road with him for 6 years and we had a great time driving the highways and byways in his big rig but then he got a new job. That’s when things got ugly…his new company said “no dogs on the road”…so my road warrior owner surrendered me back to a shelter and I cried a lot. Can you imagine going from one extreme to another overnight???? Luckily the ladies from Paws in Prison could imagine because the trainers in the dog dorm have felt the same way. Now that they rescued me from shelter #2, I am getting all gussied up in the obedience skills department and will soon know all basic commands. I will also be crate trained, house trained, leash trained and have passed all of my vet examinations and have a microchip so you never have to worry about losing meJ!!!! The best part about adopting me is that I am past all that crazy puppy nonsense as I am a mature 8-10 year old gentleman who love to take rides and I get along with other dogs. He gets along fabulously with his furry friends and is always up for a game of chase! With his spirited personality, he's food-motivated and eager to learn. He's already making great strides in basic obedience, walks well on a leash, and has even figured out how to bark-just in case you need a little extra enthusiasm in your life! Whiskey enjoys playtime but also appreciates his crate, especially when there's a tasty treat involved. He's been neutered and, while he may have chewed through his cone afterward, his surgery area healed up just fine!

Meet Bellini! She's a playful young pup who came to us with her 5 siblings: Bellini, Rita, Whiskey, Bailey, Fireball, and also her mom Brandy from southTexas. Bellini is a smart and sweet pup who's ready to find her forever home! Her brother, Whiskey, recently had a DNA test, and the results are posted in the pictures-such an exciting family! This intelligent girl has quickly learned to use the doggie door and sleeps through the night from 10 PM to 6 AM, with some occasional daytime naps. She currently weighs 16 lbs and is full of energy and love! Bellini knows how to sit on command and is currently working on "stay and "high five. She loves a good game of fetch, though she's still figuring out the whole bringing the toy back part. And let's not forget, she's a certified smuggler who sleeps soundly in her crate! She adores her dog friends and listens very well. While she prefers toys that make noise, she happily plays with all kinds of toys!

Meet Smiley Miley! This sweet smiling puppy came to us as a stray. She's learning pet life with one of our great fosters. Per her foster Miley a great dog! She does well on a leash and loves walks. She greets with a few barks. She is confident, but not dominant. She greets humans and other dogs in a very friendly manner. She has awesome manners with eating and behaving while others are eating or cooking. She behaves well at the door and rides in the car like a champ. Her foster has been leashing her while outside, so not sure if she will dig under the fence or climb. She has taken trips to the hardware store and coffee shop and has done well. She is ok with being crated, but does complain at first yet does not try to create her own exit. She has not shown interest in chewing on cords, house decor ,or furnishings. Her foster thinks she was definitely someone's pet in the past. Miley is allows her paws and ears to be touched. Please stay tuned as we learn more about her.
