He’s an almost 5 year old beagle (estimated birthday in March), who loves his doggie friends, cat friends as well as getting along with children. He is a sweet, friendly, and well mannered hound with a great smile! He is good on the leash. He loves dog friends of all sizes. He loves walks. His foster took hi. Recently for a 3 mile walk. Rowdy will be a great additional to any family, but it would be ideal for him to have a family that would be able to take him on walks or encourage him to exercise helping him to return to a healthier weight to ensure the best life for him. He knows the command “sit” but prefers cuddling with his people more than anything. He is house and crate trained and lets you know when he needs outside. Hello future forever, for real this time, family. Get your tissue ready because I have a super sad story to tell you about my last owner. Six years ago I was rescued from a shelter by a man who is a long distance truck driver . He took me on the road with him for 6 years and we had a great time driving the highways and byways in his big rig but then he got a new job. That’s when things got ugly…his new company said “no dogs on the road”…so my road warrior owner surrendered me back to a shelter and I cried a lot. Can you imagine going from one extreme to another overnight???? Luckily the ladies from Paws in Prison could imagine because the trainers in the dog dorm have felt the same way. Now that they rescued me from shelter #2, I am getting all gussied up in the obedience skills department and will soon know all basic commands. I will also be crate trained, house trained, leash trained and have passed all of my vet examinations and have a microchip so you never have to worry about losing meJ!!!! The best part about adopting me is that I am past all that crazy puppy nonsense as I am a mature 8-10 year old gentleman who love to take rides and I get along with other dogs. Dolly was rescued from a hoarding situation in Seguine. She was at term with her pregnancy and was scheduled to be euthanized by Animal Control. She had her puppies 2 weeks after we got her. She was very fearful and would not be touched. over the past three months, she has come a very LONG way towards building a relationship with people. She is wary of strangers and goes into fight or flight mode. She is much clmer when she is on a leash with a person she trusts. She is learning to walk on a leach and to be more comfortable in common areas like on the deck or in the yard. She was in a house with 40 dogs so she's great with other dogs! These sweet little darlings were born on 7/30. Their momma was taken from a hoarding situation by Animal Control and was scheduled to be euthanized just days after we got her out of there! Her pups were born one week later! They are adorable, full of personality and currently around 5 lbs. Mom is 20lbs and looks a little like a beagle, we think dad was a chihuahua. The babies will all be 20lbs or smaller. They love their stuffies and their chew toys, napping and snuggling. They love everybody and everything, cats, dogs and kids! they are too young to be spay/neutered, but their adoption fee contains a $100 deposit returned to the adopter once they show proof of spay neuter.
