Hello! I'm Bonnie, a spirited beagle with a zest for life. My day revolves around walks through the neighborhood and riding shotgun in the car where I eagerly take in the passing scenery. When it is chill-out time, I like to retreat to my kennel and engross in my favorite pastime- chewing on bones. I love to sit with you and have you stroke my big floppy ears. I love my crate and do all my business outside. I may come off a bit guarded at first but only because it takes me time to warm up to new human and canine faces. I am also not a fan of cats- just not my cup of tea. I'm looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me feel secure and loved. I tend to resource guard my things so a home with older children or adults who can understand this would be ideal. I promise to repay you with kindness and loyalty. Muffin is a lovely beagle - 4 years old. He is purebred, and is very well mannered, loving, enjoys spending time with kids, very friendly, always a people pleaser, and has been house trained. We are having to rehome him sadly due to new pet allergies in the family.

These 3 pups where found at our local middle school MPVA. We took them and are looking for their forever families. They are puppy pad trained. They are scared of outside and haven't exactly mastered the art of going on the grass. Although Harley, the only girl, is starting to get the hang of it. Harley is very playful and loves to be held. She will give you a hug if you pick her up. Bubba is the runt. He does not act like it though. He will bark to get your attention. But not excessively. He is the bravest out of the bunch and loves to play with our cats. We are thinking about keeping Ferdinand. He is very scared of the world at the moment and need to have a little more love before we can attempt to find him a home. If we raise enough money we will have them fixed before they are adopted out. All adoption fees will go to he school who rescued these guys. We are unsure of the breed. Since I had to pick something I chose what I think they are.

Howie is a sweet 2 y/o Tree Walking Coon Hound. He was found in League City, TX at a tractor supply where he had been abandoned. Howie is now full grown weighing around 40 pounds. Howie’s manners are good with and without a dog door. He has learned the word “no” well. He is very food motivated so this makes training easier! He is very sweet with kids and other dogs. He has a beautiful hound bay and will bark at almost any new noise to make sure you are safe. Howie loves to play with other pups and would do best in a home where another younger hound could wear him out! He gets at least one walk a day, though normally two, and is very good on the leash. He does bark at other dogs and people out of excitement, but he is never aggressive toward them. Howie is a toy dog and can often be found at night tossing his toys into the air to entertain himself. He loves puzzle toys, and tug of war/Fetch. I often have to say, “he is just a boy!” because he acts so silly. He flops down on top of you, and just does not know how big he is, he is so snuggly, and really loves to be loved on by his person. Howie would make an excellent addition to your family, especially to wear out another pup! Apply today to make this lanky boy a part of your family! PS This boy can jump! He will need a tall fence in a secure yard to keep him from going on adventures.

Bagel is a 7 yr old male who was found stray in Galveston last summer. He was a whopping 55 lbs when he finally made it to HBHR in the winter and now down to an impressive 42 lbs after being on a diet and exercise regimen in his foster home. Even with a slight arthritic limp on his back right leg caused by the weight he will beg for and be ready at the door for his walkies . He can be better on the leash but for weight loss purposes we sped up for him a bit. Bagel is completely house broken, including mastering a dog door. He is great with kids. He will be ok as an only dog or with canine buddies, but no cats! Oh, and a great car rider! Overall, Bagel will need a home where he can lounge around , but also commit to continuing his daily exercise and diet regimen and most importantly love him the way he deserves.

8 y/o Lucky is sweet beagle who loves belly rubs and treats. Although Lucky is not a skinny Beagle, he has been working hard in his foster home to lose weight and is down almost 20lbs (you should have seen him when he first arrived). He does love to eat, but he also loves to play and go on short walks. He is great with all his foster home's other four-legged creatures. He happily hangs out with large and small dogs and numerous cats. Outside he is unphased by the chicken, goats and horses on the property. He loves the young kids in his foster home as well - he loves to be petted, be around them, and to play games with his toys. He is weary of being picked up, probably because carrying around all that extra weight has been painful, but recently he has been able to start jumping up onto a couch when invited. He happily uses his dog door, is house-broken, and does not mind having to be crated occasionally.
