Story
Gizmo is a 5-year-old Beagle Hound mix.  He would like to be king of his castle and live his best life as an only dg. He is looking for a home that includes car rides and snuggles. He is probably not a good fit for a home with kids unless they have lots of dog experience. Due to his history of lack of food, he is very protective of his food which could cause issues with kids. Out of respect for our foster’s time and privacy we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an application on file. Therefore the first step in our adoption process is to fill out the form on our website. We have one form that is printable and one that is an on-line fillable form. Our agency is ran by volunteers. We will get back to you as quickly as we can. If you have specific questions please email us at graingerhumane@yahoo.com. We do not have a shelter location with regular hours. All of our dogs are in foster homes. All dogs are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption. https://graingercountyhumanesociety.org/available-dogsNovember 6, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
I’m Dennis, a 1-year-old Beagle/Jack Russel mix with an apricot and white coat that’s just as sweet as I am. I tip the scales at 42 pounds, and I’m neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m a friend to kids, dogs and cats alike. I’m a bit shy but give me a few minutes and a couple of treats and we’ll be fast friends. I am learning house manners and quickly catching on to potty training. I know how to use the doggy door and everything! I am very gentle when I take treats. I enjoy romping around in the backyard and playing with the other foster dogs. Sitting alongside as you garden is another special service I provide. I also enjoy toys and chew bones. Besides the occasional romp, I am low energy and enjoy taking naps on the couch throughout the day and snuggling with people when we can. But if you are up for a hike or other adventure, I am happy to go along and be by your side. I do guard my home and people strongly. I will need to be introduced to other dogs away from the home. I am great meeting new people and dogs at festivals and restaurants. But at home I will give loud barks to let everyone know I am head of security. What can I say? I can be a bit feisty. I don’t mind cats. I have met them several times and I just don’t bother with them. I am quite a funny dog too and will sit in your lawn chair to relax and do other silly things. I’m currently in Franklin, TN, but for the right home, I can be transported to other states. Please note, there is a transport fee. Are you the loving home I’ve been dreaming of? Fill out an application so my rescue can figure out how great we’d be together.

Story
If you are interested in SKIPPY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SKIPPY is one of the most gentle souls in all the universe. He has deep brown heart melting eyes that always seem to be in awe of the big bright beautiful world around him. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. If you are lucky enough to have sweet SKIPPY take a piece of your heart into his paw, he will hold on to it forever! His $540 adoption fee covers the cost of transport to the eastern TN area For an adoption application on SKIPPY click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook!
