Toby is a 2-year-old Beagle/Australian Sheperd mix boy, who has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. Toby was found starving, dirty, and so very lonely. Today he is bordering on “fluffy”, and has a lovely shiny coat and the deepest brown eyes you can imagine. He knows how to work those big brown eyes to make you stop and give him a kiss, a tummy rub, or maybe a treat. He loves to sit in your lap or swing on the porch swing with you! He does great with other dogs, but … cats and chickens not so good!Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Pleae complete the adoption (or foster) application here: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/You will be contacted if further information is needed.  We are 100% volunteer powered. Volunteers process the applications and need time above their personal needs and full-time jobs to process the apps.Please have patience. We do not have any paid staff members. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, HW check, and microchip. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee. Russell Rescue will try to first place our rescue dogs locally or in surrounding states.Russell Rescue is not open to the public for visiting hours. We've had Waylon since 11 weeks and he is now 2 years old. He is a well mannered timid beagle, that's has never been used for hunting. He loves attention and being lazy. Waylon does have papers but we have never had him registered. He is crate trained and typically goes up at night. We are currently pregnant with our second child and had to move due to job relocation. We can no longer provide Waylon with the love and home situation he deserves. This sweet girl is call Emma and she is a precious soul that is 2 years old and just begging for a place to call her own.  He sweet original Mom has Lupus and it has become so radical that she could not care for Emma the past 6 months.  Critter Cavalry has a wonderful foster mom that stepped up to help take her in and care for Emma.  This girl is housebroken, crate trained and so welcoming to meeting new people.  She is a Beagle mix girl that definitely has the nose and the persistence to check out her environment when she meets you.  She is sort of snuggly but she is not needy at all.  She will sleep on  your bed and she will greet you in the morning with a wonderful yawn and stretch.  She is good with other dogs, cats and just a casual dog that is less than 2 years old and only 24 lbs.  She is a beauty that will demand not so much from you but could be a great running partner and loves the fenced yard that she has to explore right now.  This girl is smart, active and loving.  She is not a needy dog that has to have someone around all the time.  She will sleep at the foot of your bed and then stretch and engage the day as you wake in the morning.  She will crawl up the bed to your face and give kisses.  Sweet Emma Girl is ready for an active adopter who will take her out for excursions daily, walks or jogs or just experiencing the outdoors.   She is small but large in persona and love.  Won’t you consider Emma Girl?  please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Henry and Hank, a bonded pair of sweet beagles in search of their forever home. These brothers were found at a boat dock in a rural area with no animal shelter, and sadly, only they could be caught. While Henry could potentially thrive on his own, Hank truly needs his brother for comfort and support. Henry has a grade five heart murmur, but an echocardiogram shows he doesn’t need medication at this time. Future meds will be required, so adopters should be prepared. Hank, who is very shy and lacks confidence, has undergone hernia surgery and still has a small one, but it’s not a concern.  A fenced yard is a must. They absolutely love spending nice days outside together and get excited for their daily leisurely leash walks with their foster mom. Despite their health issues, Henry and Hank are incredibly sweet and deserving of a bright future as pampered pets. Can you give these loving beagles a home for their golden years?
