We cleaned him up, fed him & are currently keeping him in an extra crate we had laying around. We have multiple dogs in our household already & have no room to house him long term. Demi is one of our long timers here that is still looking for her forever home (been here for a little over a year now). She prefers dogs over people which is of course a deterrent for people wanting a loving cuddle bug dog. She can be sweet and enjoy pets, but she mostly just wants to do what the other dogs are doing and feels displaced without them and that's okay! When the other dogs come to cuddle, she comes to cuddle too. She just isn't near as affectionate naturally on her own. Location: Lexington, SC Name: Demi Age: 1.5 years (DOB: 11/23/22) Breed: Beagle Mix - was told the dad is full blooded beagle and mom is hound mix of some sorts. She is 30 lbs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: yes - UTD on rabies, distemper/dhpp, heartworm prevention, and been spayed. Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: fine with dogs and kids. Can cat test upon request. can be a bit timid around louder children but does warm up eventually as she was originally raised around children. Aggression or medical issues?: none except that really dislikes lawn mowers and weed eaters for some odd reason House/crate trained?: yes! not this biggest fan of the crate still but is tolerating it. Additional info/story (personality): Can be quite timid at first but warms up decently fast as long as there is another dog in the home. Was raised with big dogs and tends to play with other dogs like a big dog. If no other dog, she tends to get displaced as she is a follower. Does decent on a leash once adjust to new owner and understanding surroundings but would probably do best in a home with a fenced in yard. Message/comment if interested. Toby is an amazing boy. He showed up stray at someone`s rural kennels where other dogs are housed and decided to hang out. After no one claimed him, he was put in a kennel too. We`re happy we got to help this boy move on to a great life. He is friendly to people and dogs, housetrained, loves toys, not aggressive or possessive. He`s a little shy at first. Loves to snuggle. He enjoys being with the family and getting plenty of love. 1.5 yrs. 27 lb. Neuter, vaccines, microchip provided. He is resting from heartworm treatment but we are accepting applications and he can go to a new home soon.

Murfie was rescued from a not so great situation and has been an amazing dog for his family. He is wonderful with their young boys and their 11 year bassador. He only has one bad trait that can't be fixed - he is a chicken killer. The family hoped he would grow up with the chicks and learn how to interact and that has not happened. They are doing the unselfish thing and trying to find him a new family that will not have these temptations.
