Medical Issues: (previously two broken legs but all healed) Comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance (after initial vet visit) Roby has had a difficult time in his young life. He was hit by a vehicle at 5 months in January of 2023 and broke bones in his two front legs. Luckily being a pup, with proper surgery he is fit as a fiddle now. Roby is the most special dog and was born to live with a family who loves to be loved. He is so SWEET, there isn't anyone that has come into the foster’s home and has not loved this boy immediately. He is gentle, gives hugs and kisses, listens well and can be course corrected, Roby loves his crate and will even sleep through the night outside the crate in his favourite dog bed. He has never had an accident in the house. He loves to bask in the warm sun and is managing the cold fall with his puffy jacket. He eats and drinks well. Roby is so incredibly playful with his toys, hauling them out one at a time to play and really showing off his true two year old fun active spirit. He is inquisitive when you are doing certain tasks, and loves to follows his foster mama when she is doing new things in the house or going to the basement. He loves going on walks and and dancing around as we get ready to go and he is learning to sit still at the front door before he heads out. Roby is working on not being afraid of his shadow, both on the sunny day and especially at night. He is progressing nicely and is starting to forget his fears as we get underway. He leash manners are up and down, sometimes awesome and sometimes pulls, but he is quickly showing progress. Roby is proving to be excellent at parks where lots of dogs gather. Roby is looking for a home with a fully fenced in yard, and a family that can give him what he needs, patience, training and exercise with plenty of love as well. Overall, Roby has a nice mix of playful energy, but is also calm and respectful. He is a perfect companion to our family dog, and the fosters tell him all the time that he is going to find a furrever home that will love and enjoy him even more than they do!! If you feel you would be the right fit for Toby, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/ All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. Story
Coal / Male / Approx 11 months / 25 lbs / Beagle Cross / Good with Dogs / Untested with Kids / Untested with Cats / From Tennessee / Fostered in Toronto Meet Coal! Coal's foster describes him as affectionate, playful, sweet, and energetic He came to us after he was surrendered with his siblings to a shelter, and then pulled by our partner rescue in Tennessee. Despite having a bit of a rough start, Coal is a happy go lucky guy. He loves to play, and go for walks, but also loves napping and is always up for a good cuddle. He is friendly and warm with all people and dogs, and loves making new friends. Sometimes he gets a little too excited and jumps up to give a lick, but he’s still a puppy and working on his manners. Coal has not yet been tested with children but his foster believes he would do very well with dog savvy kids. As Coal’s mom was a Beagle-he loves to follow his nose. He’s a great walker and currently gets 3/30 minute walks per day. He pulls a bit when he gets excited, but it’s mostly when he wants to say hi to someone. This is something he is working on. He’s a very good boy and has already gotten the hang of the commands “no”, and “stay”. In addition to walks, this clever boy thrives with lots of enrichment activities like lick mats, puzzles, and training. He is aaaalmost there with potty training, and will require some support when he moves into his forever home. Coal has been left alone for up to 4 hours and does very well. When his fosters leave the house, they always make sure to walk him first and provide toys or puzzles so he settles well in the crate. When not crated, he lays down and waits for his fosters at the front door. At night time, Coal sleeps in a crate where he can see his people. As long as he is next to them, he relaxes and sleeps comfortably. Coal also does very well in the car and would make a good road trip buddy! Prior to coming into care, Coal tested positive for Anaplasma which is a tick-borne infection and is not contagious. A CBC was performed to see if there is an active infection. Coal 's CBC came back indicating that there is no active infection however it is recommended that Anaplasma positive dogs get an annual blood test to monitor and that pre-op blood work including a CBC test and platelet count be performed before any surgeries or dental extractions. If you’re interested in adopting Coal, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Coal’s adoption fee is $850. Story
Calling all Beagle lovers! Zada was found as a stray in August 2024 and transferred to us by animal control. She was in rough shape when they found her, yet this petite lady demonstrates her reliance every day! We are baffled as to how this good-natured, well-behaved dog did not have a family looking for her, but we are honored to help her find a new home. Zada is a special girl and everyone has fallen in love with her. She is quiet in her kennel, and gets along with absolutely everyone she meets! We really can’t say enough about her… she even gives hugs.Zada does well with dogs and could coexist with cats if slow introductions are done over time. She is a Beagle through and through, so she’ll need regular exercise, a secure fenced yard, and we suggest doing scent work/games to keep that Beagle brain happy. But Zada isn’t all about play time, she knows how to chill out while waiting for her time with the staff and volunteers. The vet estimates Zada to be about 7 years of age, and her adoption fee includes spay, dental, deworming, and vaccinations.Zada will be a foster to adopt until her medical procedures are complete. If you are interested in meeting Zada, please contact the shelter at info@uppercredit.com to get a questionnaire. If you have questions, give us a shout at 519.833.2287.
