Story
One of the first things most people ask about a dog is, 'what kind is she?' Much of the time we're just guessing, like with Karli here. To us her face looks like a beagle. Her ears are like a lab. Her body is kind of bully-ish...basically we have no idea what breeds she is! What we do know is that she is 100% Velcro. It's been challenging for her foster to get good photos of her, because she wants to be so close all the time. She's been a gem of a houseguest so far...quiet, well-mannered and endlessly affectionate. She's thought to be about 4 years old.Karli gets along beautifully with other dogs. Hasn't been cat-tested and probably won't get a chance to be while she's in her foster home in Houston. She needs somewhere to land in Ontario, so if you want more unconditional devotion in your life, please fill out a foster or adoption application, found on our Facebooknpage.Name: KarliWeight: ~40 PoundsGender: FemaleBreed: Beagle mixColour: Fawn w WhiteMedical (past and present) & HW Status: Healthy, HW negativeFixed: Almost!Good with adults: YesGood with kids: YesGood with dogs: YesGood with cats:UnknownHouse trained: YesCrate trained: YesCrate aggressive: NoFood aggressive: A little, with other dogsLeash trained: YesEnergy level: MediumSuitable for an apartment: Maybe! Can be handled: Yes please!Barker: Not so far!

Story
Meet Bagel: Your Future Furry Family Member! Bagel, the adorable beagle, is looking for his forever home! Recently surrendered by his owner who is moving abroad, this handsome little guy is now under the care of Just Paws, eagerly waiting for a loving family to adopt him. About Bagel: Birthday: February 20, 2024 (4 months old) Weight: 13 lbs (Vet thinks expected to grow to 18-25 lbs) Health: Recently checked, microchipped, and received has received his final set of puppy vaccinations. The vet gave him an A+ for his health! Bagel is not neutered due to his age so his forever family will have responsibility/commitment to have this surgery (based on the adoption contract). Personality: Full of energy, very friendly, and great with people and dogs alike. Bagel has been thriving in his foster home. He's making great progress with house training outdoors, uses pee pads occasionally, and is enjoys his walks with that beagle nose always to the ground sniffing. Bagel will use his 42” crate occasionally to snooze during the day but the door is always open as he does not like when closed. Bagel is quite happy to sleep on the bed with his humans – he sleeps soundly all night. Bagel loves playing with his foster dog siblings but can be a bit too energetic for some dogs, so any resident dog needs to be ready to handle a playful puppy. Bagel would be quite happy with having a playful dog sibling and even kids to play with. Bagel does shed so if you are looking for non shedding and/or have allergies, he will not be the boy for you. Ideal Home for Bagel: Active Family: Bagel needs a family that can match his energy level and provide plenty of playtime and exercise. Another fun dog sibling would be great. Fenced Yard: A secure backyard is essential for Bagel to run and play safely. Training: Commitment to positive reinforcement training is a must. Bagel is smart and food-motivated, so he will learn quickly. No Condos: Bagel loves being outside and will bark, making condos unsuitable for him. Experience with Beagles: If you haven’t owned a beagle before, please research the breed to ensure it’s the right fit for your family. What You Can Expect from Bagel: Puppy Energy: Bagel is full of life and will bring joy and excitement to your home. Get ready for it! Affectionate Nature: He’s incredibly sweet and has an adorable face that will melt your heart. Training Needs: As a puppy, Bagel will need time, patience, and love to help him grow into a well-behaved adult dog. He can’t be left alone for long periods of time. He enjoys the company of his humans and dog siblings. What Bagel Needs: An experience and active dog family devoted to giving him the best life A house with a fenced yard Commitment to positive reinforcement training Patience and love Understanding of the puppy stages and prepared for them Love for beagles and knowledge of the breed Bagel’s foster family instantly fell in love with him (along with all the neighbours he meets every day), and we know you will too! If you think you can provide the perfect home for Bagel, please apply today. This little beagle is ready to bring endless love and happiness to his new family. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Hello everyone! My name is Maverick!I'm the life of the party and looking for a home that has plenty of attention to give me. I'm a social butterfly and can get excited meeting new people. I am a sturdy guy and sometimes jump up because I'm so happy making new human friends. I enjoy playing with toys and would love a human friend to play with as well, but I'm also excellent at playing with my toys on my own. I am part beagle so do enjoy walks where I get to follow my hound snout. I hope you are ok stopping frequently so we can both smell the roses!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Yes, mature and respectful children. I can be jumpy and exuberant and I am strong so little kiddos wouldn't be ideal for me. OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a friendly, easy-going dog. CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around and experienced with dogs, and an owner experienced with the introduction.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have strong dog knowledge and good dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my energy level and tendency to bark.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No. But I do have some potential food sensitivities.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Story
Pamela and Tommy Lee are an inseparable duo! They love cuddling in the same bed, and having their walks and play time together. They have a very unique look! Pamela is the more confident and outgoing of the two, and gets along really well with children and all people. Tommy is more anxious than Pam, and prefers to meet people slowly. He can become a bit vocal when he's uncomfortable. Pam and Tommy prefer being the only two dogs, and don't get along with others. They both love to swim when the weather's nice!
