He was hit by a vehicle at 5 months in January of 2023 and broke bones in his two front legs. Luckily being a pup, with proper surgery he is fit as a fiddle now. Roby is the most special dog and was born to live with a family who loves to be loved. He is so SWEET, there isn't anyone that has come into the foster’s home and has not loved this boy immediately. He is gentle, gives hugs and kisses, listens well and can be course corrected, Roby loves his crate and will even sleep through the night outside the crate in his favourite dog bed. He has never had an accident in the house. He loves to bask in the warm sun and is managing the cold fall with his puffy jacket. He eats and drinks well. Roby is so incredibly playful with his toys, hauling them out one at a time to play and really showing off his true two year old fun active spirit. He is inquisitive when you are doing certain tasks, and loves to follows his foster mama when she is doing new things in the house or going to the basement. He loves going on walks and and dancing around as we get ready to go and he is learning to sit still at the front door before he heads out. Roby is working on not being afraid of his shadow, both on the sunny day and especially at night. He is progressing nicely and is starting to forget his fears as we get underway. He leash manners are up and down, sometimes awesome and sometimes pulls, but he is quickly showing progress. Roby is proving to be excellent at parks where lots of dogs gather. Roby is looking for a home with a fully fenced in yard, and a family that can give him what he needs, patience, training and exercise with plenty of love as well. Overall, Roby has a nice mix of playful energy, but is also calm and respectful. He is a perfect companion to our family dog, and the fosters tell him all the time that he is going to find a furrever home that will love and enjoy him even more than they do!! Story
Duncan / Male / Approx. 4 Years / 66 lbs / Beagle x Bulldog / Good with Dogs / Good with Older Kids / Untested with Cats / From Tennessee / Fostered in Toronto **Follow Duncan on Instagram: @duncanintoronto Meet Duncan! Duncan's foster describes him as warm, loving, playful, and disciplined. Duncan came to us from Tennessee where he was rescued from a shelter. Much of his past is unknown but his future is bright! Duncan has an infectious smile that grabs the attention of everyone he meets, and will literally stop people in their tracks. He loves going for walks, running at the park, and playing with both toys and other dogs. Duncan is friendly with everyone and always happy to see new people. He stops to say hi to new people on walks. Sometimes he gets too excited and jumps up-he sometimes forgets his size but he’s working on it. He can adapt to any living environment, he’s currently living downtown in a condo and is doing very well. He would prefer a family who has at least one person home often. He does well on his own but definitely prefers company. Of course, having his very own yard to run and play would be great!! As Duncan loves to play with other dogs, he would love the company of a dog sibling. His exuberance can sometimes be overwhelming for smaller or older dogs, however a proper meet and greet will determine compatibility. He has not yet been tested with cats. His energy level is medium high and he sure loves his walks. He currently gets 3 walks a day around 30-45 minutes along with play time, and training. He pulls a lot on the leash and his foster ends up running with him sometimes, which he loves! Duncan is potty trained and does not have accidents in the house. He is currently working on basic obedience and will need a family who is willing to dedicate time to continuing his training. The main area he will need continued work is with leash skills, and learning not to jump up. When his fosters leave the house he is left free reign. Most of the time he chooses to go into his crate and calmly awaits their return. He’s very well behaved when left alone and has never caused any problems. His foster says he is the most discipled dog she’s met! One fun thing about Duncan is that he loves car rides. He is happy to stick his face out the window and puts on his big goofy grin as he enjoys the wind on his face.
