Story
A Gentle Soul in Need of LovePenny is a sweet, gentle dog who gets along well with kids, dogs, and even cats. She loves playing with other dogs and enjoys treats, making food a great way to earn her trust. While she’s incredibly loving, she is also very timid around people due to past abuse, and sudden movements can startle her.She finds comfort in having her own quiet space, like a kennel, where she can retreat when needed. She longs for a warm, safe home where she can be part of a family and not be left outside. With time, patience, and love, she will come out of her shell and become a devoted companion. If you’re willing to give her the care she deserves, she will reward you with endless love.Due to the severity of her anxiety, Penny is currently in a foster home. You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about her or to set up a date and time to meet her!****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.Adoption Fees:-$60 for cats-$60 for dogs over 6 years-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years-$100 for puppies up to 6 monthsCome visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.

Story
Hi! I’m Pippin!I’m a 2-year-old, 12-pound Beagle-Dachshund mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! I’m highly intelligent and absolutely love people—I always want to be by your side and don’t like being left alone. In fact, that’s how I ended up at the shelter! I climbed into someone’s yard, made myself right at home, and would have stayed forever if they were allowed to have pets.I am the best of two worlds - sweet & smart! I have a high-to-medium energy level—I love to run around and play, but I also enjoy a good couch snuggle at the end of the day. I get along great with other dogs.I enjoy being with my humans and am eager to please or learn new things. I know how to sit and am good with cats. I am housebroken, but I like to take a leisurely stroll while contemplating my business. Because I am still young, I like to play & romp so a home with children would be perfect! My favorite thing in the whole world is food, so supplementing with treats between meals works for me. Most of the time, I’m a quiet little lady, but if someone arrives, I’ll be sure to let you know—I’m basically the cutest doorbell ever! Oh, and one more thing—I love wearing sweaters! I also travel well in the car, so I’d love to tag along on all your adventures. My foster person said "Something that's truly awesome about Pippin. She sleeps through the night without a peep! She's kennel trained, and we cover it with a sheet at night."If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, I just might be the perfect pup for you. Come meet me at the shelter today—I can’t wait to find my forever family! 🐾💕 You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
