Story
Lacey is a sweet, female, beagle mix weighing in at 48 lbs.  She was surrendered by the owner when we found out she was heartworm positive.  She is 5 years old and up to date on shots/vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.  We have started her on medication to prepare her for her heartworm injections in about 30 days.  PINC pays for these treatments.  We are looking for an adopter that has experience with heartworm treatments. Lacey is sweet, laid back, loves to be with her person, and loves other dogs.  We follow the American Heartworm Society's heartworm treatment plan and heartworm treatments are administered at Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas.  We will require a fenced-in backyard for Lacey.  www.pincdogrescue.org/adopt is where you can submit an adoption application and see our adoption process. ##1101372##

Story
Hi, I'm Turtle, the charming Beagle/Hound Mix, and I can't wait to find my new best friend! Talking is my thing, so get ready for some heartwarming conversations on the couch. Snuggling is my expertise; I'll keep you cozy and warm for hours! But wait, there's more—I'm an active pup who adores running and playing in a safe, fenced backyard. My smart little brain even learned to ring a bell when I want to go outside! How cool is that? Now, all I need is my forever family to share my adventures and cuddles with. Are you ready for the most loyal and loving companion you've ever met? Then adopt me, and let's make memories together! Submit your application today at www.southcharlottedogrescue.com.

Story
Bullet is a high energy puppy and probably needs to be in a home that can train him without another dog around. We got him from a shelter but he does not do good with our other dog. He is sweet but also has a moments of craziness (as any puppy does)

Story
Need a lesson on slowing down and stopping to smell the roses? Then Lenny here is your man! This sweet beagly boy enjoys his short leisurely walks with frequent breaks to stop and sniff. He has what we like to call selective hearing and that hound stubbornness. It is important to realize that this is Lenny’s world and we are all just living in it 😂 Boundaries and taking commands are not really his thing. He has certainly left his past of a “failed hunting dog” behind and assumed his role as king of the castle. Snuggles and treats on demand are a must. As is a fenced in yard because if you catch a tone he’s packing his bags and not looking back! Lenny is about 6 years old, thought to be beagle/ basset cross, utd on vaccines, and is about to be done with heartworm treatment! Lenny is cat friendly but does reminisce on those days of hunting rabbits and will chase the outdoor kitties. For the most part he leaves the inside cats at peace. Lenny can be nervous around larger dogs and is a bit of a grouch when it comes to the antics of the young spry puppies. A small to medium low-key dog would be his best match! Lenny is ready to find a castle fit for the king he is! If that could be you please submit an application and feel free to reach out to us for more information!

Story
Plum came into our local shelter feral and scared of the world. She was very defensive and because of this she was marked for euthanasia. Luckily we were able to pull her to safety before that happened. Since in foster Plum has done a 180. She has shown us she really loves attention! While she is still nervous at first she is no longer defensive and enjoys belly rubs! Because of her timid nature Plum will need an adoptive home with a fenced in yard. She will also need another confident k9 sibling or two to show her the way! In the right patient household we know this girl will thrive! Plum is already fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative. Plum will be a small breed dog at 6 months old she’s only 14 lbs. We expect her to be under 25 lbs when full grown. We are working on socialization with plum but she isn’t great on the leash and prefers to stay home where she feels safest. She will need an adopter that understands her specific needs.

Story
Flame was abandoned at our local fire station. The wonderful firemen gave him the name Flame and we decided to keep it as part of his story. While in his foster home Flame has come out of his shell! This once shy puppy now wants nothing more than to be held and near people. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and doesn’t mind the cats! Flame is looking for a forever home that will continue to work with him on basic manners as he matures. He is a very good puppy and already has a great foundation in place.

Story
Look at that face, what a beauty! Reesa is a 2.5-year-old Beagle and Basset mix and currently weighing 22 pounds.  Reesa takes on more of the Beagle traits regarding size, think 19” Beagle. Reesa is a very sweet girl and is vaccinated, house trained but not a fan of the create.  Reesa is true to her breed, and she is very active and noisy, she will investigate anything she thinks has food on or in it, and she has the typical Beagle prey drive and would do better in a home without cats.  She loves to cuddle with you when you are relaxing or even sleeping right next to you at night.  Reesa has done great with all the dogs in her foster home and all of them are bigger than her and would really enjoy a home with another dog!  If you are interested in adopting Reesa, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **   October 29, 2024, 6:10 pm
