Story
Meet Elsa, a stunning 35 lb beagle-husky mix with striking icy blue eyes. Elsa is on the search for her forever home, and while she’s come a long way since her rescue, she’s still learning how to navigate a world that was once unfamiliar to her. Elsa likely spent much of her life as an outdoor dog, so everyday experiences like car rides, leash walks, and meeting new people can be intimidating for her at first. But thanks to her dedicated foster, Elsa is making great strides in socialization and growing more comfortable every day. She absolutely flourishes around other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion in her forever home. Elsa is also very gentle with cats and has shown herself to be playful and kind. Although she hasn’t lived with children, we believe older kids, especially those who understand her nervous nature, would be a better match. Elsa is both kennel and potty trained. She enjoys the peace and comfort of her kennel when feeling overwhelmed, which helps her feel secure in new situations. Elsa is ready for a patient, understanding family who will continue to help her learn that the world can be a wonderful place, one step at a time. If you’re ready to show Elsa the love and safety she deserves, reach out to us!

Story
Buddy’s first week with us was a bit dramatic when he was diagnosed with double pneumonia after arriving from the shelter. We’re happy to say he is well on the road to recovery and ready to begin his search for his forever home! From being essentially lifeless and refusing to eat, his true beagle personality has emerged and boy is he a character. Don’t let that resting beagle face fool you! Buddy is fostered with other dogs but loves to be the center of attention and he definitely prefers not to share. He hoards all the bones to himself which are his favorite toy along with squeaky toys. He will hear the rustle of a wrapper or can of food and come running to the kitchen. He now never misses a meal. He has been known to wrap himself up in a blanket to get even comfier on the couch though he also has no problem sleeping in his crate. He uses his voice to let you know he’s happy or excited or that Amazon visits your house too often. Buddy the beagle, is estimated to be 3-4 years old, around 25 pounds, and already neutered. We will ensure he has a clean bill of health before he heads to his forever home. The adoption fee is $300 which is paid as a donation to the rescue. If you are interested in adopting Buddy, please go to our website and fill out an application: www.thefosterdoghouse.org

Story
Olive is very gentle and loves attention. She likes to spend as much time as possible receiving belly rubs and scratches. She rarely barks which in my experience is not typical of most beagles. We adopted her about 7 years ago from a local breeder when she was only few months old. She is excellent around kids and other pets and is always interested in meeting new people. She needs to have access to the outdoors in the form of a backyard or large area of land. She is also use to multiple walks throughout the week. She loves sleeping on a bed or couch but will sleep in a crate at night given it is decorated with a dog bed and blanket. She is use to dry dog food and typically will just graze throughout the day after we fill her bowl up in the morning. Ideally looking for a loving family to adbot her or someone that has experience with dogs. Would need to have a meet and greet prior to adoption determination.

Story
Meet our big man Beethoven, a beagle mix with the most gentle and laid back demeanor you could ever find! This kid doesn't want to do much but take naps on a nice bed, receive lots of pets and get as many treats he can get his paws on! Beethoven is a gentle dainty dog when it comes to interacting with everyone and everything he meets. He ignores dogs for the most part and sometimes ignores people just to be able to sniff around longer. Since this kid is so calm we believe he could do well in any home that could provide lots of nap time and some good treats.

Story
Meet Prudence, who her foster affectionately calls Prudy! Prudy is a talker!  This sweet girl will tell you she is so happy to see you with the cutest “Rooo roooo”!! She is very friendly with people and loves other dogs!  She enjoys playing with toys along with her doggy pals. Prudy is crate-trained and if you leave the door to her crate open, she will go in by herself to her “safe place” for a snooze. Prudy does great on the leash, enjoys her walks, and will go potty very consistently on the leash. She is house-trained and uses the doggy door at her foster home, also.   Prudy loves to curl up by you in a soft dog bed. She likes her coat on cold days. It’s important that she be kept on a leash or in a secure fenced yard. In “true beagle” fashion, she is a typical escape artist! If you are a beagle lover, Prudy will steal your heart and make the most loyal companion! Story
Hi. My name is Dakota and I'm a 4yo high energy beagle. A home with a fence & active owner will be best. I love to be touched and the center of your attention. I can be one with high energy but that's what I'm known for. My nose has been known to get me in lots of trouble where a little more training would help. I am lots of fun and does wonderfully in my bed all night and is house trained. Would you please care for me?
