Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Buster, a sweet and gentle 4-year-old chocolate beagle mix who weighs 35lbs. Buster is a little shy at first, but once he gains trust, his true personality shines. He was rescued just in time, thanks to a foster offer in South Carolina, and has been soaking up new experiences ever since—like his very first snowfall! When Buster first arrived in his foster home, he was hesitant around the kids (ages 2 and 7), but with patience and time, he now greets them with a wagging tail and prancing excitement. He also gets along wonderfully with visiting friends and other dogs. He’s crate trained, housebroken, and does well in the car—making him an easy companion to have around. Buster is incredibly sweet and has a calm demeanor. He’s not at all aggressive with toys or food and has no destructive behaviors. His sensitive side shows when raised voices make him whimper and retreat to a quiet spot, likely due to some past mistreatment. But with love, cuddles, and encouragement, Buster is a loyal, loving companion who thrives in a safe and gentle environment. Buster is looking for a forever home where he can continue to blossom and be the affectionate, sweet dog he is. If you’re ready to open your heart to this lovable boy, he’ll be sure to return the love tenfold!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 31, 2025, 5:48 pm

Story
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION Pringles is currently in foster care in Houston, Tx, We ship our dogs with Mighty Mutt Shipping IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ This sweet boy has had a rough life, he is approx 4 years old and 43 lbs.. we are not sure of his breed mix, but he may have some Beagle/lab in him.. he is a really nice dog, when we rescued him from the local shelter, he had been found dragging his back leg into a local business and they called animal control to pick him up, his left back leg was broken in several places and he had heart worms. we treated his heartworms according to the AHS recommendations but our Orthopedic Surgeon was unable to repair his leg as it was an old injury and had already set into place, so the only option was to amputate .. he hops around really well and is a lot happier now that he does not have to drag his leg around, he is house and crate trained and will run into his crate to sleep and will hang out in a doggie bed with the other dogs during the day..he is a bit of a Loner and doesn't like to play with the other dogs, but does well with them, he would rather hang out with a chew stick... so he would be a great companion for someone as an only dog or with a sweet laid back buddy.. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TX OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. Story
Meet Jethro, this poor baby was dumped in a corn field where he lived for several weeks. Folks in the area tried to catch him but to no avail so they would leave food and water for him daily. Someone had finally contacted us so we headed out with our trap and caught him on the first night. It appeared that Jethro had never been around people and he was very very shy. He has come a long way but still needs work, this is why getting him into a permanent home is very important. He's the sweetest boy ever and has the most awesome Beagle howl that you have ever heard! In order to adopt him, YOU MUST HAVE A SECURE FENCED YARD! He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and he is crate trained. He truly is a little gem! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $500
