NAME….IRELAND MY APPROX AGE….1 - 3 YEARS MY APPROX WEIGHT….28 POUNDS MY GENDER….MALE I LOOK MOST LIKE….BEAGLE BLEND ABOUT ME….If you love hounds, then you must meet Ireland, a beautiful young beagle blend who's going places! Actually, he's going from Texas to New Jersey, arriving on December 7th, and he can't wait to find his new home. At first sight this lovely, laid-back boy with the best ears ever will cause you to exhale in relaxation. Ireland takes life as he finds it, and he LOVES life and everyone and every creature in it. His also appreciates time for leisurely nap sessions and snuggling next to you on the couch. But we wouldn't want you to think he's a couch potato--oh, no! Ireland has plenty of pep to keep company with you and your pack. Within a very short time he'll seem so settled into your life and routine that you'll struggle to remember a time when he wasn't your best buddy. You'll wonder how you ever walked anywhere without him at your side or set off on a road adventure without him navigating for you. And you'll feel thankful that popcorn tastes so delicious when you share it and your favorite shows with him. If you recognize Ireland as your doggy soul mate, you may be a perfect match! It's hard to believe that in his former life, Ireland landed in a high-kill shelter. But with the help of MatchDog Rescue, he's ready for his freedom ride to a new life--and this happy guy isn't looking back! If you'd like to welcome Ireland into your life, his application is easy to complete, and his adoption fee, affordable. You'll be so glad you said YES to life with Ireland. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Almost two years ago, our foster dog Bella found a home with a great family.  Unfortunatley, Bella developed behavior problems and would not get along with the family's other dog.   This forced the family to return Bella to DMPR.  Bella is now looking once again for her forever family. Overall Bella is a great dog with some issues that can be resolved if her new family is committed to taking her to an obedience class.  Bella needs to learn boundaries - when she is given too much freedom, she becomes a high-maintenance diva (or simply put, a brat).  Bella does know some basic obedience commands.  She will sit and come on command.  She also knows when she is doing something wrong - her foster mom will look at her and say in a low voice 'Bel-la' and Bella will stop what she is doing and look at her foster mom and then drop her head low (like she is ashamed she was caught).  However, this is not ideal, as it would be better if Bella didn't do the 'bad' stuff in the first place.  (Bad stuff includes - jumping on the bed, growling at the foster mom's other dogs when there is food out, and jumping on people).  What Bella needs is consistency - she needs to be taught what is the right thing to do, so that she gets to hear lots of 'Yes!  Good girl!'  Bella loves to be with people - she so wants to be a people pleaser.  Her foster mom thinks that positive reinforcement training will go a long way with her.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Hello, my names is: BlessDOB: 10/4/2024Sex/Breed: Female BeagleWeight: ~6 lbsTraits: Curious, noisy, energetic, sweetRescued From: Overcrowded shelterHow adorable are these girls?? Bliss, Bless, and Blithe were rescued from a high intake, overcrowded shelter and we are happy to help them find forever homes! These babies have big voices, even bigger ears, and the biggest hearts. They are curious, exploring their surroundings wherever they go. You’ll find them wrestling, playing follow the leader, or napping in the most perfect puppy pile. Their ideal families will have experience and the patience to train them to be well-behaved companions. Beagles are adaptable, versatile dogs with loving, curious (and sometimes stubborn) natures. These girls are true to their breed and seem very athletic and active. We cannot get enough of their cuteness!! They have been socialized in their foster home and are so ready to find loving families of their very own. Please help us place these pups in the hound-loving forever homes they so desperately deserve! All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting?
