** PLEASE EMAIL questions, please DO NOT call. We are a volunteer based group and are unable to handle the call volume. WE HOLD ADOPTIONS ON SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS FROM 10-4 PM at our Adoption Center. Our adoption center is located next to CAL Ranch at 232 North Jones (I-95) Suite 170. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY, just walk right in. Ranger is about 9 months old and weighs about 32 lbs. His family is to busy to care for him so they surrendered him. He is good with other dogs and kids. He was housebroken and crate trained in his home. More will be known about me soon. A Path 4 Paws holds adoption events at our Adoptions Center, located at 232 N. Jones Blvd, Suite 170 right next to CAL Ranch (North Jones/ I-95). Please bring your dog(s) for a meet and greet (if applicable) Please bring your entire family so everyone can meet. If you are interested in Ranger, please contact dogrescuelv@hotmail.com to confirm the dog you are interested in, will be attending that particular event. We have limited space at the store, therefore we can not take every dog out to the event. This pet comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org . This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle Ranger into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours, Monday-Friday. This pet is spayed/neutered, has current vaccinations and includes a microchip, deworming and 2 free vet visits, including a Healthy Start Certificate with the VCA Hospitals with a $250 health credit (restrictions apply). Adoption fee applies. Please make sure you have read the information listed on the homepage for requirements and restrictions. Foster homes & volunteers are always needed. A3869 Chico is a tan and white colored, approximately 8-year-old, 33-pound, neutered male, Beagle mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 12-11-2024 due to the fact her child is allergic to the dog. Chico is a friendly, eager, easy to handle boy here at the shelter. Our staff says he is a friendly boy who loves affection and is eager to please. He has had some training and will “sit” and “sit up” for you upon command. He was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. Staff saying he is very easy to walk. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with other dogs and children, but not cats. He has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter and is not reactive to them barking at him. We would recommend a meet and greet is you have another dog in the home though. Chico will be a loving companion in his new forever home.

Toby is turning 5 on December 18th and we are hoping he can celebrate with his new family! This cutie makes friends with every stranger he meets; he does well with other dogs and was raised with, and loves, cats. Toby likes to play but is quite mellow for his breed. Meadow is a dream girl. She has 2 favorite things, going for a walk at the park every morning where she can see all her dog friends and beg for treats, and then take a long nap after breakfast. She is friendly to everyone, although a bit reserved around humans until she knows them. She does her business outside as long as someone is available to open the door for her or has a doggy door for her to use. She does not guard or beg for food and doesn’t have an interest in chewing or playing with toys. Her best days consist of a long morning walk, breakfast and napping near her humans followed by dinner and a relaxing evening. At night she prefers sleeping on the owners bed with a blanket over her. She “self swaddles” 😂. The only times she barks in the house are in the morning when she is expressing her excitement at going to the park, or if someone is at the door. Outside, she will occasionally bark at the neighbors to let them know she’s in the job. Within a few hours of meeting her, she will roll onto her back and delight in belly rubs… definitely her favorite thing!

Story
Jane is 6 years old. Her birthday is 9/16/18. We rescued her in ‘19. She loves belly rubs, she loves humans, staring out the window and following you around. We want a good home for Jane with someone who will give her plenty of love and attention. Jane loves to bark and play. Jane loves people and is so sweet but in our experience has not loved other animals. She has lived with other dogs before and got along with them just fine, never attacked, but is territorial over certain things like her food which has led us to believe she needs to be an only child so she isn’t so stressed. Now that she is alone, her behavior has approved. She loves to run freely but isn’t leash trained. She pulls and barks at anything moving. We have recently had a baby and she loves and interacts with him but she causes his allergies to severely flare up and it has come to the point where it is beginning to affect his health. Jane deserves a loving home and not being sent off to the pound. She is a good dog!
