A26343 Niko is a black and tan colored, approximately 1 and a half-year-old, 54-pound, neutered male, Rottweiler / Beagle mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 03-17-2025 due to the fact her child is highly allergic to him. Niko is a friendly but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. Our staff says he is a sweet boy with puppy energy who just wants to play ball and go for walks. Saying he is shy at first but doesn’t take long to warm up and love affection. He was easy to leash and got excited when he saw the leash and new he was going for a walk. He does pull in excitement to be out for a walk, but did listen well and take correction. He will need some training as he did not respond to any commands. He has a friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter. When we had him in the play yard he did initiate play with the dog in the next yard. The previous owner says he is house broken, and has lived with other dogs and children, but not cats. If the new owner will give him love, attention and training we believe he will be a great dog. Niko will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.

Shelby is a beagle mix. We are told mixed with Dachshund. She is long and that makes sense, but there likely is something else in her too. She is cute and friendly. She seems to like people. She gets along with dogs but is mostly afraid of bigger dogs. We are told she was attacked multiple times by dogs bigger than her that were off leash when she was walking. We have witnessed her with dogs and she did fine with the ones we observed however, they were her size or smaller. We are also told she loves children. Shelby was surrendered to us by her owners due to allergies by the humans. Shelby is about 7 yrs of age.   Adoption fee is 250 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc..                        We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back.      Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62.  For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . A26344 Murphy is a white with brown colored, approximately 5-year-old, 29-pound, neutered male, Beagle mix. He entered the shelter as a stray on 03-17-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Murphy is a friendly, social and excited boy here at the shelter. Our staff says he is a friendly, playful and sweet boy who loves everyone. Saying he is just the perfect family dog. He was easy to leash and got excited when he saw the leash and knew he was going for a walk. He was well behaved during our walks and has a cute little trot as you go. He loves looking back at his handler with a wonderful happy smile. He happily greeted everyone we encountered during his walks with happy tail wags and licks. He will need some training as he did not respond to any commands. He has a friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter. He stopped at each kennel as we passed greeting each dog with a happy tail wag. Murphy will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.
