Story
Hey I’m Gail! I'm a very pretty beagle mix currently available for adoption. First introductions are not a strength of mine but once I settle in and have a minute to get to know you I am the sweetest little thing you’ll ever meet. I am kennel trained and working on potty training. I just get really excited!  I love to play with my foster humans and their dogs, and even their cat! My ideal home would have a fenced yard for me to romp around in and another dog for me to play with. I’m an introvert at heart and am looking for a home ready to love me as hard as I’ll love them.  Gail is a year old and 35lbs.   To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.November 10, 2024, 8:14 pm

Story
We adopted her with her sister Blondie in early July. I was told that their previous owner passed away. The shelter also said that they were good with kids, dogs, cats, etc. She and her sister were very skittish and scared when I picked them up. They wouldn't even come near me. They have warmed up in the last few months, but they haven't warmed to the kids. They need a home with teens or only adults. It isn't fair to keep them in a home where they are constantly stressed.
We'll also keep you updated on Blondie's adoption status with email updates.

Story
We adopted Blondie with her sister Winnie in early July. We heard that her owner died, and she and her sister were up for adoption. We were told that she was good with kids, cats, dogs, etc. She isn't good with kids. When I picked them up they wouldn't come to me. Over time, it has gotten better, but they are terrified of the kids. They need to be in a home with adults. I love them, but we can't keep them. It isn't fair to them or the kids.

Story
Fiona the Lemon Beagle is most comfortable around other dogs and wants to run and play with them. She has made many big steps on her new journey after a life of breeding in a puppy mill. She will take pets in her kennel but not outside of it yet. She has been brave and taken a treat from her foster mom's outstretched hand. She loves to drag all the toys and blankets outside. Fiona has been spending more time out of her kennel but is still hesitant of getting too close. She needs a home with another dog that is mostly calm and will be a companion to her as she learns to become a happy & confident dog. She is going to need a person with much patience and time to work with her. Fiona cannot live with children as they would frighten her. She also fears most adults and will need constant reassurance and gentle guidance. She continues to get more comfortable each day. Requirements for Fiona include an experienced dog home with excellent veterinary reference; experience with a mill dog a plus; secure fenced yard, another gentle dog companion in the home; no young children as they will frighten her. She does not walk well on a leash as that is completely new to her. She is scared of pretty much everything, people, noises, etc.... but making great steps and getting braver every day! Fiona is a female Beagle born 3-27-23. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
