Story
Maggie was originally rescued by us, turning 3 in December 2024. She is up to date on vaccines, receives heartworm/flea/tick prevention regularly, and sees her vet routinely. No significant medical history. We adore Maggie- she is incredibly cuddly and loves to be loved. She can be playful and is trained well with walks and an unfenced yard. Unfortunately, Maggie does not get along with our senior dog since having our son. With another baby almost here, we cannot give Maggie the home and freedom she deserves. She is used to sleeping in our bed but being left in her crate when we are not home. Maggie obeys rules and is great with children.

Story
AVALON Attributes Likes some other dogs Housetrained Crate trained Needs a fence High energy This gorgeous young gal with movie-star looks is Avalon! Avalon is a beautiful and energetic beagle mix girl who would make a great companion for an avid walker, hiker, runner, or active family. A home with a yard where she can burn off her puppy energy by romping and playing would be ideal. Playtime with other dogs is a serious business for Avalon, and she does best at playing with another confident dog. Avalon is a beagle/boxer/terrier mix, and we’re guessing that she’ll weigh in the neighborhood of 50 pounds once she’s an adult. Because of her size, she’ll need supervision around smaller children but should be fine with older ones. She’s cautious around strangers and may sometimes bark but will warm up to them if given time to get to know them. She is also nervous about noises and new situations. Avalon is currently training to help her gain confidence. Avalon’s foster mom says that she a very smart girl and is picking up obedience basics such as “sit,” “wait,” and “come,” and is working on improving her leash manners. Avalon rides well in the car and goes to doggy daycare two or three days a week, where she really seems to enjoy hanging out and playing with her friends there. Her foster mom says she’s very food motivated and “eats like a vacuum” (show us a beagle who doesn’t!), so if there are other dogs in the house, she should be fed separately from them. When it’s time to go to sleep, Avalon is equally happy to snuggle up in a dog bed or people's bed – she just wants to be comfy! She’s housetrained with the use of a doggy door. If you’re looking to liven up your days with a sweet, affectionate, energetic companion, Avalon may be the dog you’ve been looking for! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.

SELENE Attributes Dog friendly Requires another dog Good in-car rides Good w/children over 4yo Playful Snuggly Requires a fence Working on housetraining High energy Selene is a 10-month-old beagle mix girl weighing 28 pounds. She is very energetic, playful, happy, and affectionate. Selene loves people and enjoys being with them as much as possible. Selene is young and athletic. She is good with other dogs and enjoys running and playing with canine friends. She loves stuffed toys, balls, bones, and sticks. Selene is smart and is quickly learning her new foster home. She is learning basic commands like Down and Sit but can still be jumpy and mouthy like a puppy when excited. While Selene enjoys plenty of activity, she also likes to relax and cuddle with her people. Selene is relatively quiet but is known to join other resident dogs in barking when she gets excited or hears a strange sound.  An ideal home for Selene is one with an active family committed to ensuring she receives the attention, exercise, and playtime she needs and the love and affection she deserves. She would also love a canine sibling and a fenced yard to run around.  Selene would be a great companion on outings with her new family, hiking, long walks, running, and car rides. She's overall a well-rounded young girl. NOTE: The dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Story
ANNIE Attributes Dog friendly Not best for apartments Crate trained Working on housetraining Annie is a cute black and white beagle puppy who loves life. She has some brown on her face which officially makes her tri-colored. She is named Annie because she was orphaned in the Kentucky floods earlier this Fall. She is now 12 weeks old, healthy, and smart. Annie stays in her crate all night and sleeps very well. She knows to sit and goes to her crate when it’s time to eat. Annie loves to cuddle and give kisses. She loves to sit outside in the leaves and the sun. Annie is mostly potty trained and will go to the back door but you have to watch her on a rainy day. Annie loves to play with dogs and people. She still has some puppy habits like chewing and nipping but is easily encouraged to do better. Annie is a wonderful little girl. She is going to make a great addition to a home. Contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor if you would like to know more about Annie.
