Story
Age: 10 years Weight: 30lbs Good with dogs? Would like to be the only dog Good with cats? No Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $200.00 Any other info: Meet Bo. This sweet senior boy has found himself sitting in a scary shelter at the age of 10 and he's not loving it. He was adopted from us as a puppy 10 years ago but unfortunately was just recently returned. Bo is a sweet boy but he does not do well with strangers in his home so he's looking for a low traffic home with someone to love him for the rest of his days. His previous owners said Bo was a perfect dog 99% of the time but he gets very worked up into a frenzy when people come to the house and acts out. He can be very fearful of new people and other animals. Bo would love to be in a calmer home. Being afraid of strangers and other animals makes living his life in a shelter pretty difficult. He would love to be someone's baby and best friend. Bo is a very distinguished gentleman with sweet soulful eyes, a super adorable scruffy face and a happy smile. He is very sweet when you go slow with him and once he knows he is safe with you, he is a friendly, affectionate, cuddle bug of a boy. The shelter is no place for a senior so please help us help him! Share his story far and wide. We know there is the perfect home out there for Bo and we won't stop until we find them. He is house trained and potty trained and food is the way to his heart, although he's too nervous to eat much right now. Bo is 10 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and kept on prevention here with us. He will also be starting some medications for anxiety to help him get through this stressful time and he should probably stay on them for the rest of his life to help his transition. If you have the perfect low traffic home and are looking for a sweet senior boy in need of a family, don't wait, please apply through the link below. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Bo. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check. Story
Meet Ruth! This adorable seven-month-old beagle mix is eagerly waiting to make your family complete! She's a 41-pound light-hearted gal that will provide years of love and laughter. Ruth has an optimistic enthusiasm that will brighten anybody's day. She is a social sweetie who enjoys the company of people and pups alike. She soaks up all the attention she can get from volunteers and is always up for adventure. Ruth loves to play outside and will need a yard of her own to enjoy in her new home. As Ruth is still a young lady, she will benefit from continued training as she grows. She is very eager to please and knows her basic commands. She is a very capable girl and we know she will make you proud! Based on our evaluation, we feel Ruth would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. She may have the potential to live in a home with other animals. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Don't wait! Go to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our baby Ruth!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am
