Story
Sadie is very pretty girl, with the most soulful eyes brown eyes you have ever seen, and the sweetest freckles on her legs.  She's a happy and goofy girl, somewhat clumsy, aways wagging her tail and often has a smile. She is gentle and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She puts up with the tiny residence dogs when they pull her ears, jump up on her or nip her legs. She tries to play with them but they don't reciprocate. She would do well with another dog her size to play with. She loves to be outside and let her hound nose take over. She enjoys smelling the outdoor smells, perhaps sensing the bunnies or squirrels who visited the yard before her. A fenced in yard would be best should her sense of smell takes over. Sadie is crate trained, but would much prefer being with her person at night.  She loves to give the people she loves her sweet kisses, probably as much as she loves peanut butter and cheese. Sadie is very interested in the senior residence cats.See likes to chase them. I would not recommend a home with cats. She has not had any interaction with children, but with her gentle nature and medium size, I believe a family would be good for her. Unfortunately, Sadie came into rescue with heartworms. She is under treatment and is in the final stretch of her treatment (may need to be on crate rest until she tests negative). If you are a hound lover, please consider Sadie. You will have a loyal friend forever. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Meet Arlo! Hello and thank you for stopping by to learn a little more about me! I'm Arlo, a charming 2-year-old Beabull (that's a mix of Beagle and Bulldog). I weigh 56 pounds, and I'm up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered—so I’m all set to join my forever family! Now for the fun stuff: I’m a total cuddle bug with the softest fur you’ll ever feel, but I’m also always up for an outdoor adventure. Whether it’s hiking or relaxing by your side while you garden, I’m happy to be your companion. I’m naturally curious and love learning new things, especially during one-on-one time with my foster family. While I’m still adjusting to new environments and can get startled, I bounce back quickly! When something surprises me, I do a cute little prance and pounce, then go investigate until I’m comfortable with my surroundings. Toys are my jam, especially chew toys. I’ve even started playing fetch, and I’m proud to say I’m a pro at the “drop it” command! I lived with two other dogs in my foster home, and we had a blast walking and playing together. However, I’m not a fan of cats, so I’d do best in a cat-free home. I entered my training program early, on October 25th where I will be learning my manners and maybe some cute tricks. If you’re ready to be my forever human, fill out an application today! If approved you will receive my weekly reports until I am able to come home with you on Jan 10th! Submit your app today!  I'm neutered, UTD on all my shots, HW, and FT. I have a microchip in case I get lost and will require a STANDARD FENCE to keep me safe. RPSM recommends homes with children 6 years and older and NO CATS. If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application today by going to www.rpsm.org. My adoption fee is $300. ##2175419##
