Oliver is a lover of all things, he hasn’t met anyone he hasn’t loved! He does great with other dogs and kids. He hasn’t been cat tested yet. He is learning what life is like in a home after he found himself alone in a high kill shelter. He’s still a puppy and entering his teenage years. Sky was found heavily pregnant living on the streets of Texas. Animal control took her to a local kill shelter. The shelter spayed her and left her without her babies :( this poor dog is so depressed and scared of new things. Can you help her trust the world again? She will need an experienced adopter. Meet Ruth! The best things come in small packages, and Ruth is sure to prove that! You may have noticed that our girl Ruth is missing a leg, but she barely has! This little hopalong is ready to pawty, and will need help from her adopters as she recovers. Ruth is a smart cookie that enjoys to train with her person(she knows how to sit, spin, and give paw!)! She would also like an adopter that understands her boundaries when it comes to her special snacks, since this girl loves her food! Ruth wants the best of both worlds, so she would enjoy a nice walk and then hunkering down with her person for a snuggle! If you`re interested in this tripod girly and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Meet our newest Beagle - Pixie ! Pixie came to us from southern shelter in distress after the recent storm. She's about 3.5 yrs old and weighs about 21 lbs. Pixie is a friendly little Beagle who enjoys meeting new people and is very affectionate. She would prefer to be an only dog. Pixie has arrived and is ready for visits. Sweet Cheeks is an adorable beagle from the south. She is friendly and affectionate, loving adventures and being outside. She is lovely, sweet, and curious, loves to play in the leaves and has an adorable personality. She loves everyone, dogs and people, and wants to meet everyone she sees. She is very social and will be a wonderful companion for someone home a lot as she likes to be with her people and doesn’t like being alone. We think she will do best with another calm dog as she does well with other dogs but doesn’t particularly care for them in her personal space. Sweet Cheeks talks and sings. She pulls and seems a bit confused on leash but will get better with practice. She would do best in a fenced-in yard since she really loves the outdoors. She rides well in the car, sleeping on long trips. Sweet Cheeks is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits.

Dee Dee, or Birdie to her southern foster, is a sweet beagle with a great personality. She is super loving, loves to be loved on, really loves people and wants to hug everyone she meets. She is very affectionate and wonderful on a leash. Birdie has fully embraced life outside the shelter. She is very smart, has learned several commands and is house trained. She sits for treats and takes them gently. Birdie is very playful, loving to run laps around the yard. She will do best with a fenced-in yard and another young playful dog. An active family would be a bonus. She is very affectionate, often stretching out on you to be loved. She could easily knock over a young child so she will not be placed in a home with children under 10 years old. Birdie is being fostered south of Boston.

Meet Blossom and Sweet Pea! These sweet girls wandered onto a very kind couple's property with no collars or chips. They cared for them while looking for their owner. As it became clear they would not be reclaimed, they took them to the vet to be checked out and vaccinated. Although they would have liked to keep them, they ultimately decided they were unable to. They reached out to a rescue partner of ours and here they are. They are estimated to be about a year old, are virtually identical and likely sisters. They are good with other dogs and are becoming more social every day, however, they are still wary of humans. They will need extra time, patience and space to adjust to a new home. We are told they are diggers so if placed in a home with a fenced yard, it will need to be secure. Blossom and Sweet Pea can be placed together or separately in homes with another dog. Blossom and Sweet Pea are in New England.
