MEET CHARLIE!Calling all Beagle lovers! If you are looking for an active and spunky adventure buddy, Charlie is your boy! Like most beagles, Charlie`s favorite activity is discovering all the smells of the neighborhood and going on walks. Charlie can get pretty excited when seeing dogs out and about and will let out his very stereotypical beagle bark. His future fam should be prepared to work on his leash manners using delicious treats and positive reinforcement training. This handsome fella will be waiting to still your heart, just stop by to meet him! Charlie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. For more information on Charlie or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

This handsome boy enjoys exploring the world at his own pace and then settling in for some well-earned snuggles. Whether he’s checking out the backyard, sniffing along on a walk, or relaxing inside with his family, Tracker is simply happy to be part of the moment.Tracker can be a bit shy at first, especially around sudden noises or new environments, but he learns quickly and gains confidence as he settles in. He appreciates slow introductions and a family that will help him feel comfortable as he adjusts. Once he’s relaxed, he’s a sweet and loving companion who enjoys cuddles and spending time with his humans. Tracker also does great with other dogs and could enjoy a canine friend who can help show him the ropes, although he could also do well in a single dog household. He has done well with the children he’s met and would do best with dog-savvy kids who understand how to give him space while he warms up.Tracker is fully crate trained and happily goes into his crate when asked, even without a treat. He is house trained and will head to the door when he needs to go out. Tracker walks nicely in quieter areas and enjoys his strolls, though busier streets and things like bicycles can still feel a bit overwhelming. With time, patience, and continued exposure, he continues to build confidence. He’s a smart pup who enjoys mental stimulation and particularly loves working for his meals in a snuffle mat.Tracker is an easygoing boy who is ready to sniff his way into his forever home. Story
Jeep is a cute little Beagle/hound mix weighing about 38 lbs and a year old. His caregivers in Virginia report that Jeep is friendly and sweet and just a little bit timid with new things. He does well on a leash, doesn't jump on people, and enjoys attention now that he's settled in a new place. Jeep keeps his kennel clean and has learned to use the doggie door, although he was a little scared at first. Outside, jeep is nose-to-the-ground like most hounds. He's comfortable around other dogs and has not displayed any aggression to other dogs getting close. Jeep will arrive in mid-March. We have a few short videos to share with interested applicants. Story
Melody is a lively, affectionate Beagle. Her foster in Virginia says that she is a joy to have around as she gets comfortable with living in his home and with his Jack Russell. Melody enjoys her walks, does well on leash, and likes to nap in the sun. In a new setting, a structured routine is reassuring for her and will help her settle in. She does enjoy hanging out with another dog but would be okay as an only dog with an attentive owner. Melody likes attention and at times will seek petting and being held. She is largely housebroken if kept on a routine and sleeps well through the night on her dog bed. Melody is about 6 yrs old and weighs about 23 lbs. Arriving in late February. Melody has now arrived in Massachusetts and is ready for visits. Her new foster reports that Melody loves to walk and has enjoyed climbing snowbanks. She is a world class cuddler too. She sleeps through the night in her crate with the door open. She loves to be with people, kids and adults alike. Typical beagle; loves food. Story
Brandy is a very special, incredibly sweet beagle mix from the south. She was found chained outside after her owner passed away. She had a deep laceration on her neck which has completely healed with no complications. Brandy is about 3 yrs old and 38 lbs. She is gentle, affectionate, very well-behaved, and enjoys the company of children. She is house and crate-trained, walks well on leash, and doesn't seem to mind cats. And, for the most part, she is quiet. Brandy does have a tendency to bark when she senses something to fear - a person coming to the house or an unfriendly dog approaching her on leash. But, she is easily redirected with a call of her name and a high valued treat. She just needs a little time to trust her surroundings. And, when she does, she is just the best and will ask you to rub her very soft belly! Brandy loves to spend time outside and would be best suited to suburban or rural living. Her forever home should have a secure fenced in yard. She loves walks and hikes. Brandy also loves to play with dogs, however she can be a little dominant when she is first getting acquainted. But, she quickly responds to direction. She would do best with a happy, confident dog in the home who can help to reassure her when she is hesitant. Brandy is a big fan of squeaky toys! She herself has some of the most amazing vocals - from beautiful howls and "I want to be with you" whimpers. Brandy is fostering south of Boston. Her foster family adores her and so does everyone she meets.
