Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!    Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!”   This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is! July 3, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Ellie and I’m a five year old beagle mix. First, let me tell you all the great things about me; I’m a snuggler and love sleeping under the covers, I know a lot of commands and can be taught more because I’m super smart and very good motivated. I also get along with other friendly dogs and also with dog savvy cats. I walk like a champ with a prong collar and like car rides too. Now, I’m going to tell you about things I’m working on. I’m a barker, foster mom says it’s because I’m a hound but sometimes I wear a bark collar because I’ve decided it’s my job to let you know about anything that might be a threat, whether it’s a squirrel in the yard or just an unknown sound. I also would not do good around small kids and prefer ones ten or older that are respectful of my space. I do take anxiety medicine which helps me. I want a person/family that understand my needs and want to help me continue my training. I almost forgot to mention that I’m housebroken and will stay in my crate and I never ever tear anything up or chew on things. July 3, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Zeke (and Stitch) - These two have been the best of friends since I picked them up from pet wow on the same day. I don't think they knew each other before they came to SAAP, but they have grown very close over the last couple of months. They were both set to be euthanized in February, and are now living the life of luxury in a house! They aren't a bonded pair and don't have to go to the same home, but would probably love to do so. They would be a great fit for anyone looking for two dogs. They are both crate trained and house broken. They were both very very skinny when they came to SAAP, and Zeke has gained weight easily and quickly. Stitch has a hard time keeping weight on because he's very very active and seemingly has a very high metabolism. They're both playful, energetic, gentle, and super sweet. They would love a house with a fenced-in yard. They're great with kids and cats. They're still working on manners, but they are just a little jumpy at times. Zeke is about 30 lb and Stitch is about 25 lb. July 3, 2024, 11:25 pm

EEEEEEEEKK!!! SAAP NATION, I can hardly contain my excitement! It is my special privilege to introduce you to the cutest, sweetest, senior beagle mix girls, Ms. Mabel and Ms. Myrtle!  They are a bonded pair, meaning they have to be adopted together. After only being around them for a few minutes, you can tell they truly are bonded, and probably sisters, and would never want for them to be without the other! They are too sweet together!!! They are small beagles. Ms. Mabel is only 18lbs and Ms. Myrtle is only 22lbs, so much smaller than your typical, eat everything in sight, beagle!!  They are both great with kids of all ages and have adjusted perfectly with all my crazy resident dogs. They are fine with cats. They were both cat tested and did great.  They are both approximately 8 yrs young, so lots of life to live and lots of love to give!! And they do give the love! Ms. Mabel is a bit more affectionate than Ms. Myrtle, but Ms. Myrtle still wants you to give her all the affection. Ms. Myrtle is more vocal and also snores. Ms. Mabel is quieter and doesn’t snore. You’ll never meet a cuter, sweeter, pair of senior girls than Ms. Mabel and Ms. Myrtle! Apply to give these adorable, deserving girls the forever home they truly deserve! You’ll be the lucky one!July 3, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Beautiful BECCA is big fun in a small package. She's a lively little girl, 2 years old and fully grown at just 22 pounds. She's sweet, friendly and active. With her stunning brown eyes and cheerful disposition, Becca will charm the treats right out of you. Becca appears to be a beagle/jack russell terrier-type mix. Her legs are spring-loaded like a JRT, this girl can JUMP. She just loves to play, loves her toys and treats and people. She's good with other dogs and uninterested in kitties. Becca needs a home with another playful dog, without a playmate she will likely get bored and into some mischief. She will need a securely fenced yard OR she will need to be taken out regularly for leashed walks.  The vertical slat fences that HOA's love will not contain a petite pup like Becca, she can slip right through. Beagles have a bad habit of following their noses into trouble. If you'd like to meet Becca, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Becca at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if she's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 3, 2024, 8:08 pm

ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! Meet PATSY PUGGLE, a sweet, gentle timid girl looking for a home. Patsy Puggle has been a months-long project for her foster mom. She came to the rescue a terrified mess. She was a stray dog who gave birth to puppies. She had to be trapped in order to be captured along with her pups. We were told that a rescue agreed to take the puppies, but wouldn't take mama because she was so terrified. It's been a journey getting Patsy ready for a home, but she's finally ready! Patsy Puggle is a puggle (pug/beagle)-type mixed breed girl, 5ish years old and fully grown at 25 pounds. Patsy needs a quiet home with a patient adopter who will help build her confidence. Patsy Puggle needs a well-balanced dog sibling to help her navigate life. She adores her confident foster sister. She MUST have a fur sibling, no exceptions. Patsy Puggle needs a secure, physically fenced yard to keep her safe. Patsy Puggle is housebroken, crate trained and dog and cat friendly. If you would like to meet Patsy Puggle, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.
