Story
Meet Danni! This beautiful beagle mix is ready for her new adventure. With you! Though our focus is usually on cats, this little lady was abandoned on our road and never claimed by her former "owners". We have fallen in love with her during the short time she's been with us! Sweet, affectionate, and playful, she is the perfect dog in our humble opinion and would do great with a family or a solo pet parent. She loves attention and craves to be with her person. She is the pupper equivalent of Velcro!
She does great on a leash. She is a medium-sized dog around 40 pounds. Approximately 1-2 years old. She gets along great with other dogs and is submissive to them. She loves to play with her dog friends! (She will however protect her food! Warning growls and things of that nature. She is not aggressive.) She WILL chase cats if she spots one in the distance, but she coexists peacefully with them when they are in her space. We believe she would also chase livestock if given the opportunity, so she is probably not suited for farm life. We envision her being the type of dog who would snuggle on the couch with you after a fun day of hiking! She has been trained on an electric fence. I believe she would do wonderfully with kids, and has responded well to "no jump" training. She is a great car traveler! She is learning to enjoy Kong/busy treats to occupy her when her people have to leave. We are uncertain if she is fully house-trained as she currently stays outside, but we suspect she is, and if not that she would learn quickly.
Danni is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on preventions. She is also up to date on her heartworm test. NOTE: she did test positive for Lyme disease. This is not contagious to other dogs or you. It is something she unfortunately picked up from a tick prior to her rescue. She has zero symptoms and is a healthy, athletic, fun-loving girl. She may always show positive on her yearly tests. Most dogs do not require treatment or develop problems, but she will need to be monitored of course.
ADOPTION FEE: $250 If you have any questions about her or would like to receive a digital application or schedule a meet and greet, feel free to email or text. No calls.
