Buzz is a 3 year old beagle mix that came in as a stray with his companion Woody. Buzz is All beagle! He enjoys being outside and a good howl. He does ok on a leash and is dog selective, so a meet and great will be require if you have a dog currently in the home. Buzz is a quirky little guy that will make you laugh with his antics. Buzz`s adoption fee cover his neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and various other treatments. If you are interested in Buzz, please stop by the front desk or call 641-753-9046.

Riley adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She was lovingly cared for by her elderly owner, who had to surrender her due to a change in living situation.Riley seems to be house trained and has clearly been well-loved throughout her life. She’s looking for a family to continue showering her with affection and help her stay healthy—she’d benefit from slimming down a bit. My name is Imogen and I am a black & white beagle/mix. I am an intact female (I will be spayed before I am adopted) and I am 7 months old. I was transferred here from another shelter/rescue through the Ames Animal Shelter`s Third Chance program on 12/11/2024. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am still learning how to be potty trained. I am a high energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. The shelter staff is not sure if I am used to being crated during the day. and I am great about walking nicely on leash. I would do well with some puppy obedience training to set me up for success. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home or yard, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally get out a door or escape the yard. I would like a standard height fence to help keep me inside the yard. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other dogs and I can be good with cats.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
