Story
Meet Beam – A Diamond in the Ruff, Ready for His Forever Home Beam is a young medium sized boy around 2 old, with a world of potential just waiting to be unlocked. This handsome guy has faced some tough times, and while he’s had a few incidents when feeling scared or uncertain, Beam has done very well under the guidance of our training team and volunteers and is ready to turn the page. However, he needs the help of a dog-savvy foster or adopter who knows how to bring out the best in him. Beam is a deeply loyal and intelligent companion who’s looking for a calm, confident leader to guide him. He’s eager to learn, and with the right structure and patience, Beam will reward you with unwavering loyalty and devotion. He thrives in a quiet, predictable environment and would do best in a home without young children but with proper introduction, has done well with fairly low key dogs where he can engage in social play. However, Beam will also do well as the sole dog in a home where he can get all the attention. Despite his past challenges, Beam has a playful and affectionate side that’s just waiting to shine through. He loves mental stimulation, long walks, and learning new tricks – he just needs someone who understands him and is willing to invest in building a strong bond. If you have experience with dogs and are looking for a meaningful, rewarding connection, Beam could be the perfect match for you. He’s not just any dog – he’s a diamond in the ruff, ready to sparkle with the right person by his side. Please contact us if interested in fostering (with option to adopt) Beam.

Story
He was abandoned at our previous apartment and we decided to bring him in and rescue him. Got him fixed and up to date on his shots. In time we have realized that we don’t have what he needs to thrive. I believe he would do best in a home with a yard and someone who can be home with him all day every day. Sadly we can’t provide that and need to find someone who can. He’s very sweet and loving and dear god is he a good cuddler, but we can’t keep him.

Story
We have had Niko for around 3 months and she is around 2 years of age. She was spayed in July 2024. Niko would do best with a family who can be home more as it appears she has separation anxiety. She will follow you around the house all day from room to room. There is another dog in the home and they get along well. It is not known how she would do with other dogs. She walks well on a leash. Majority of the time she is house trained with a few accidents from time to time. When crated, she does tend to soil the crate, but personally believe this is due to separation anxiety.

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  This little guy came to ARPO after having quite a rough start, being hit by a car. With that said, he has proven to be a very tough cookie. He has persevered through all medical setbacks, and he has com out the other side as a happy and healthy hound boy. He is the sweetest little dude that loves to just be with his person. He would spend all day laying in his dog bed, while you lounge on the couch, if he could! However, don't let that fool you! He is a playful fella as well and is currently in a household with a variety of other animals. Bandit has proven to be friendly with both dogs and cats. He LOVES food and toys! If you're offering, he will accept it. Our goal is to find someone that understands Beagle, as he is definitely a true one. Bandit deserves a family that will show much as much love as he has shown us. He certainly deserves it!   Bandit did have two fractures in his back leg that were splinted for several weeks per orthopedic vet recommendations. He may have a slight limp due to where the fractures were. Bandit also tested positive for Lyme disease and is finishing up a 30 day course of antibiotics. He will need to be re-tested at the end of this period and that will be at ARPO's expense if taken to his existing veterinarian. Bandit has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. His approximate birthday is 6-4-24.If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
Red is a 4-year-old tri-color beagle weighing about 35 lbs who is personality personified!!! He has never met a stranger and loves to make new friends. He likes to serve as one of the "greeting committee" when people come to visit the Waldo’s Dog Dorm and welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, sexes and ages. Red is a happy-go-lucky, mischievous boy. He's our leprechaun who always searches for the toys and is known to counter surf on occasion. Red is active and so much fun! He thrives on games of chase and wrestling with all his doggy friends. However, when not playing, Red wants to cuddle for ear massages and tummy rubs. Although good with most dogs, Red is a pretty dominant male. He is able to be in the play yards with other males and does fine, but he does not do well with other dominant males and will stand his ground. His favorite playmates are the girls, so we feel that a very playful female is what he needs in his forever home. Red wouldn't do well as an "only dog," as he takes so much joy in rough housing and doing zoomies with all the other dogs at Camp Waldo. Also, because he is very active and mischievous, he would become bored if he didn't have a very playful "sister dog" which would lead to destructiveness and, more importantly, Red just wouldn't be happy. Red's ideal home will have a large fenced-in yard, a gregarious friend and people who will give him the activity he needs as well as the attention he craves. He is truly an amazing, happy wonderful boy who will make a fabulous family member. Red's adoption fee is $250. He's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea prevention.
