Story
We adopted Otis when he was 7 months old and he is now 10.5. He is a very good boy overall but still has a lot of energy for being a senior! He is very handsome with beautiful coloring and photogenic. He loves walks and being active. He is very potty trained. Ideally he needs a yard with a fence. He unfortunately is afraid of strollers and has gotten a lot less activity over the last 3 years after we had our baby. I am now pregnant again and we are looking to rehome Otis to a place where he can have a lot of attention and love. He has always been very good to our son and never aggressive toward him. Every once in a while he shows territory over his food. He is good to other dogs and never barks at dogs or humans on walks. We currently groom him once every 6 weeks for a good bath and nail trim. He used to be crate trained but he would often bark a lot while we were gone and now leave him out.

Story
{Shar Pei and Beagle Mix} NINI is bold, athletic, selectively sweet natured, gives kisses, prefers to sniff faces up close, sneaks in snuggles, and enjoys hip/bum scratches. Nini takes to her Beagle mix genes more in looks and behavior. She enjoys doing parkour around the house. Translation: she will need someone who can match her energy and be consistent with ongoing training. Nini has already been spayed and microchipped (with lifetime registration). She is heartworm negative, kept up to date on vaccines, and is anxious for her own family. Nini will turn 3-yrs old in late November 2026.

Story
{ Shar Pei and Beagle mix } ISABELLE communicates in her own special way; often favors grabbing a toy when excited; enjoys a round of fetch or zoomies; and sometimes hums/grunts during ear rubs. She enjoys hip/bum scratches too! Izzy will often choose to sit/“place” close by while you’re working, whether you are at the kitchen sink or the bathroom counter. She may take a bit to work through her nerves, depending on the situation. Some of her recently discovered talents are carrying multiple toys in her mouth at one time, or collecting her favorite toys in one place. Izzy knows “drop it” when safe. Izzy has quite a powerful sniffer, for example, she usually tracks the exact trail of whomever visited the yard. Isabelle has already been spayed and microchipped (with lifetime registration). She is heartworm negative, kept up to date on vaccines, and is anxious for her own family. Izzy has received ZERO applicants during her 3-years. Please help Izzy’s ideal family to see this and apply.

Story
Ryder was saved after his owner threatened to shoot him for not being a good hunting dog. We had planned to keep him as a buddy for our beagle (our other passed away), however with the number of dogs in our rescue, it is only fair to Ryder to have a home of his own. He is a wonderful dog with typical beagle behavior. He was abused so I would not suggest small children or children who do not understand to pet softly. He loves to be loved on and is understanding that he is safe now. He is not a hunting dog and needs to be indoor. He is full-blooded but he did not come with papers (if that is important).

Story
Hi, I’m Houndini – a smart, curious pup who’s still figuring out the big world. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I’ll happily roll over for a belly rub or bounce up to say hello. I love to explore and sniff everything, and I’m always up for an adventure. I can get pretty excited when I see other dogs, and I may be a little loud about it at first, but I’m learning to settle once I’ve had a chance to acclimate. I’ve met other pups here at the shelter — sometimes I’d rather do my own thing, but with the right introductions I’ve done just fine. Because I get a bit hyper focused, a home where my family can help me with structure and patience would be best. Since I’m a bit of an escape artist, I’ll need a secure home to keep me safe. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with adventure, I might be the perfect match for you! I am eligible for foster! *I’ve been waiting for my forever home for over 100 days, which makes me a Featured Pet! That means my adoption fee is completely waived—all I need now is the right family to take me home

Story
Meet Tessa! A 3 year old beagle English bulldog mix. I guess one of them designer Mutts. Beautiful dog indeed she is but..... Takes a very patient , willing, and very understanding person to adopt Tessa. Sadly she has had 3 homes and everyone quit as she was all over the map (she is much better now). She does it all and has no care as she does NOT HIDE WHEN DOING NAUGHTY THINGS. She is a total sweet heart. Bless her heart! She is just mischievous as hell! We are working hard to eliminate those awful behaviors. All while on a strict diet and lots of exercise through out the day. In the last few months she has lost good weight (she was too fat), has learned, and accepts correction, and progress is being made with basic obedience training. She is great when asked to stay still for baths, nail trimming, teeth brushing, ear cleaning finally! She is cat, dog, and kid friendly too! Tessa is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
