Story
We have had Niko for around 3 months and she is around 2 years of age. She was spayed in July 2024. Niko would do best with a family who can be home more as it appears she has separation anxiety. She will follow you around the house all day from room to room. There is another dog in the home and they get along well. It is not known how she would do with other dogs. She walks well on a leash. Majority of the time she is house trained with a few accidents from time to time. When crated, she does tend to soil the crate, but personally believe this is due to separation anxiety.

Story
Turbo is approximately 8 years old, 35 lbs (but needs to lose 7+ lbs), and an absolute sweetheart. He was found inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Turbo can be slow to warm up, but with a little bit of time and treats will be your best friend. He currently lives with both dogs and cats, but would be happiest in a home without children or grandchildren, as he can be frightened by sudden movements. He loves to run laps in the yard with his Boston Terrier bff, Melody. He is crate trained and potty trained. When he is happy he loves to talk with small whines and barks. While he loves to be in the mix and spend time with his people, he can also be content to coexist independently. He is very gentle, and has shown no signs of food, toy, or water aggression. Turbo is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and has had blood work done that shows he is a healthy boy. His adoption fee is $100.

Story
Meet Beam – A Diamond in the Ruff, Ready for His Forever Home Beam is a young medium sized boy around 2 old, with a world of potential just waiting to be unlocked. This handsome guy has faced some tough times, and while he’s had a few incidents when feeling scared or uncertain, Beam has done very well under the guidance of our training team and volunteers and is ready to turn the page. However, he needs the help of a dog-savvy foster or adopter who knows how to bring out the best in him. Beam is a deeply loyal and intelligent companion who’s looking for a calm, confident leader to guide him. He’s eager to learn, and with the right structure and patience, Beam will reward you with unwavering loyalty and devotion. He thrives in a quiet, predictable environment and would do best in a home without young children but with proper introduction, has done well with fairly low key dogs where he can engage in social play. However, Beam will also do well as the sole dog in a home where he can get all the attention. Despite his past challenges, Beam has a playful and affectionate side that’s just waiting to shine through. He loves mental stimulation, long walks, and learning new tricks – he just needs someone who understands him and is willing to invest in building a strong bond. If you have experience with dogs and are looking for a meaningful, rewarding connection, Beam could be the perfect match for you. He’s not just any dog – he’s a diamond in the ruff, ready to sparkle with the right person by his side. Please contact us if interested in fostering (with option to adopt) Beam.

Story
Bubba is the cutest little bundle of beagle-adorableness! He is a sweet boy who gets along well with everyone. When he came to EDCR he had heartworm infection, which we have now treated. He's had his teeth cleaned and updated on all other veterinary needs. Now all he needs is a family! We promise this darling little man will steal your heart if you give him the chance. Bubba does have that beagle nose that he likes to follow, so we are recommending that Bubba goes to a home with a secure fence.    Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Each dog in our rescue is in a loving foster home, where they can grow, play, and recover from their time spent on the streets or in a shelter. If you'd like to meet an adoptable dog, please fill out an application on our website, www.edcr.org. Because we are a foster home based rescue a completed adoption application is required to meet our adoptable dogs. January 29, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Lia is the sweetest, gentle little senior gal. She didn't have the easiest start to life, but she is now *very* much enjoying being a loved, indoor companion. She enjoys the company of other dogs, and generally is looking for a peaceful, comfy 'retirement' life. She had heartworm infection when she came to us, but she has now completed treatment. She also had her teeth cleaned, was spayed, and got caught up on other veterinary care. Now all she needs is a family !  Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Story
Beagle lovers, where ya at!? Leona is arguably one of the best beagles in existence. She’s friends with every dog she meets and people are a no brainer for her. We can cat test upon request. Ideal home for Leelee is somewhere with dog friends, a large fenced in yard to let her nose work, or someone who likes to go on daily walks. Lee Lee wants you to know that despite being active, she gives 10/10 snuggles when it’s time to nap.

Story
Red is a 4-year-old tri-color beagle weighing about 35 lbs who is personality personified!!! He has never met a stranger and loves to make new friends. He likes to serve as one of the "greeting committee" when people come to visit the Waldo’s Dog Dorm and welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, sexes and ages. Red is a happy-go-lucky, mischievous boy. He's our leprechaun who always searches for the toys and is known to counter surf on occasion. Red is active and so much fun! He thrives on games of chase and wrestling with all his doggy friends. However, when not playing, Red wants to cuddle for ear massages and tummy rubs. Although good with most dogs, Red is a pretty dominant male. He is able to be in the play yards with other males and does fine, but he does not do well with other dominant males and will stand his ground. His favorite playmates are the girls, so we feel that a very playful female is what he needs in his forever home. Red wouldn't do well as an "only dog," as he takes so much joy in rough housing and doing zoomies with all the other dogs at Camp Waldo. Also, because he is very active and mischievous, he would become bored if he didn't have a very playful "sister dog" which would lead to destructiveness and, more importantly, Red just wouldn't be happy. Red's ideal home will have a large fenced-in yard, a gregarious friend and people who will give him the activity he needs as well as the attention he craves. He is truly an amazing, happy wonderful boy who will make a fabulous family member. Red's adoption fee is $250. He's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea prevention.
