Story
Emma is a gorgeous beagle mix who came to us from local animal control in search of a forever home. She just turned 1 year old and weighs 25lbs. Emma is a typical energetic and playful young pup who will need a family willing to train her and work on leash manners. She a sweet girl who enjoys being with people as well as running around with toys. She's done well with the dogs she's met here so far. She is definitely excitable and can be a bit loud, which some dogs do not enjoy. She has a big boisterous beagle personality that we love. Emma is an absolute love and will melt in your lap. She is a super cute and quirky girl who would love a family to call her own!

Story
Meet Albert the pup with the incredible ears! But he is also so much more than that. Albert is a 33 lb and 1 yr old beagle/terrier mix boy who is truly a (wo)man’s-best-friend-dog. A cuddly, loving best buddy that wants to be by your side always. He wants to play tug o’ war, eat sticks, fetch tennis balls and run laps around the yard. Albert is all dog and is going to make a very fun, active addition to a lucky forever home. He’s barely a year old and spent most of that first year in shelter. Since coming to his foster family, he’s progressed steadily and has begun learning basics doggy manners. He sleeps well in his crate and is making great progress on his potty training. He loves learning basic commands and is a fast, attentive learner. Albert arrived a bit rough around the edges due to a difficult start in life but he is very grateful for human affection and is going to make a wonderful, lifelong companion. Albert would thrive in a home with a fully fenced yard in a calm neighborhood. He’s still adjusting to new experiences after spending much of his life in a small cage, so a quieter home with kids 13+ would be ideal. He’s full of energy, loves to play, and gets along great with other dogs—he just enjoys a predictable environment where he can feel safe and comfortable. Story
Meet Maggie Mae, our golden oldie with a zest for life and a heart as big as her love for snacks! This 10-year-old Beagle/Lab mix might be a little “chonky” at 55 pounds, but she’s ready to trade her couch potato days for walks and a healthy lifestyle. With her spunky attitude and endearing mischievous streak, Maggie will keep you smiling every day. Maggie is sweet, cuddly, and oh-so-affectionate. She’s happiest curled up next to you, soaking up all the love. When it’s playtime, she enjoys chewing on toys (bonus points if they’re tough enough to keep her busy). Though her energy bursts are short and sweet, she settles down beautifully for long snoozes or cuddle sessions. Maggie is house-trained, and she does wonderfully in her crate at night and settles down after a brief fuss during the day. While she gets along well with calm dogs who enjoy peaceful coexistence, she’s not interested in rowdy playmates. She hasn’t met kids yet, but her foster believes she’d do great in a family with older, respectful children who can appreciate her gentle nature. Maggie is also a curious girl with a knack for finding laundry, countertops, and, yes, trash cans. She’s not shy about asking for snacks (barking her requests). Her ideal family will keep her on her toes with structure, positive reinforcement training, and lots of supervision while she learns her manners. A tidy home is a must for this mischievous gal—where temptation is out of reach. Maggie Mae isn’t just a dog; she’s a partner in cuddles, a walking buddy, and a comedian all rolled into one. She needs a family who will appreciate her playful personality while helping her refine her house manners. If you’re ready to open your heart to a girl with lots of love to give and a zest for life, Maggie Mae is ready to meet you! Her minimum adoption fee is $100 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar.
