Story
Emma is a gorgeous beagle mix who came to us from local animal control in search of a forever home. She just turned 1 year old and weighs 25lbs. Emma is a typical energetic and playful young pup who will need a family willing to train her and work on leash manners. She a sweet girl who enjoys being with people as well as running around with toys. She's done well with the dogs she's met here so far. She is definitely excitable and can be a bit loud, which some dogs do not enjoy. She has a big boisterous beagle personality that we love. Emma is an absolute love and will melt in your lap. She is a super cute and quirky girl who would love a family to call her own!

Story
Toffee is a 20 lbs., playful, affectionate, and energetic young beagle mix looking for a forever home that better suits his needs. Toffee is super cuddly & sweet puppy (about 5 months old) who loves to play, snuggle on the couch, and eat. He is looking for a home with at least one other dog in a non-urban environment, ideally with a fenced in yard or quiet neighborhood. He is crate-trained to sleep through the night, fine with cats, partially house-trained (lasts about 4 hours), and is making progress with basic commands (sit, wait, leave it, bed). Like most puppies, he likes short bursts of play or walks and then good long naps. He's food-motivated, smart, and has a ton of love to give. Recently adopted into a busy city condo, Toffee has struggled with reactivity to dogs, children, and guests, which has made urban living overwhelming for him. Despite his family’s love and dedication, including training efforts and research, they’ve made the difficult decision to rehome him. Toffee thrives in calmer environments and would do best in a suburban or rural home where he can have space from his triggers. Toffee gets along well with other dogs, especially in doggy daycare, and would likely benefit from having a confident canine companion in his new home. He’s cuddly, playful, and has gained confidence with time, but he needs an experienced owner or someone willing to continue working on his training to help him overcome his challenges. Toffee has so much love to give and just needs the right environment to shine. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Meet Cami – The Sweetest Girl Around! Hi, I’m Cami, a happy, wiggly 2-year-old mixed breed who weighs 43 pounds. I came all the way from Texas to find my forever family, and now that I’ve finished my heartworm treatment, I’m ready to bring joy and love to my new home! Why You’ll Love Me: Affectionate & Social: I love meeting new people and wagging my tail (and shaking my butt!) to show how happy I am. Food-Motivated: I love food and treats and take them gently, which makes me a quick learner for training. Quiet & Cuddly: I rarely bark and enjoy cuddling up with my people. Belly rubs are my favorite! Life with Cami: Great with Dogs: I live with two foster dog siblings, and we love to play, run, and explore in the yard. Proper introductions help me feel comfortable. No Cats: I’ve decided cats aren’t my thing. Leash & Car Pro: I walk beautifully on a leash and love car rides! House & Crate Trained: I’m fully potty trained and sleep quietly in my crate all night, as long as it’s near my people. Fun Facts: I’m curious and love exploring. I’m fearless and confident in new situations. I know “sit” and am working on “stay.” Cami would be the perfect companion for someone who works from home or enjoys having a loyal shadow by their side. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, and playful girl to brighten your days, I might just be the one for you! 📩 Apply to meet me today – I can’t wait to wiggle my way into your heart! 🐶💖 Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Say hello to Trina! This super sweet girl is looking for a wonderful home. She needs a family that will treat her like the princess she deserves to be. Trina came to us with obvious signs of neglect. Under the watchful eyes and TLC of her foster home, she has flourished and feels so much better. While she has come so far, she needs a loving family that will continue to monitor some of the medical issues she came to us with. Her foster mom has been managing a prescription diet for allergies and twice daily eye drops. Trina has been doing so well and deserves this care. Trina brings so much to the table that having a few medical things to manage for her is nothing compared to what you will get from her. She is completely house broken, loves car rides, is crate trained, loves to sleep in. She's also leash trained and loves squeaky toys. Trina is also a huge snuggle bug and is happiest curled up with you in bed or on the couch. Such a sweetheart given all that she's been through. Trina is approximately 8 years old and would do best in a home with no young children. She has not been tested with cats but does well with other dogs that match her energy. She also does not require a home with a fenced in yard. Please consider giving this sweet girl a wonderful home! Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Trina is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $200 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and Heartworm negative. She has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested. http://newstartdogrescue.org
