Story
Randy is the cutest little 3 month old Beagle mix puppy and we are SO glad he's here! You see, Randy is a parvo survivor! He came out the other side of this horrible virus and now he is thriving in a foster home, ready to find his forever! Randy likes other dogs and is curious about cats (perhaps, a bit too curious!). He's just an outgoing and friendly little fella with whole body wiggles whenever he meets a new friend. He loves to roll on his back for tummy rubs the second he sees a human :) Randy is learning how to walk on a leash, respond to basic commands, and spend time in his crate. He does well going potty on potty pads but going outside is a work in progress! He absolutely loves to play with his toys, especially balls and snuffle mats - what a smartie! He also enjoys chewing on a bully stick or working on a pumpkin-filled Kong, watching TV, snuggling with his people...and hanging out in the cat tree. What can we say, Randy likes what Randy likes! He also LOVES to play with other dogs. We think he will do well in any home where his people are ready to continue working on puppy training, and if there is another dog for him to play with, he'd be thrilled. After Randy has tired himself out, he will climb into a friendly lap for cuddle time. Watching him grow will be such a fun adventure for his future people. Let us know if you'd like to meet this special pup! Randy's adoption fee is $650

Story
Hello everyone! My name is Gail and I am a 3 month old, 8 pound, Beagle mix puppy! I am a happy and lucky girl because, you see, I survived parvo! I got really sick, but I'm here now and ready to live it up with my forever family for the rest of my days! Let me tell you a bit about myself to see if maybe we are a match! I love to play with dogs and I'm curious (probably too curious) about cats. I am very outgoing with everyone I meet! I greet new friends with whole body wiggles, and I welcome tummy rubs. I'm working on puppy training, and I am looking for a family who will continue helping me with crate training, potty training, leash walking, basic commands - all the things that will help me be the best big girl I can be! I am hoping to find a home where toys abound, especially snuffle mats and balls. I love a good bully stick or pumpkin-filled Kong, watching dog tv, and snuggling with my human friends. I would LOVE to join a home with another dog! My brother and I play all day long and I'd be a great playmate for another dog in my forever home, too. I am very active and curious, and I think I'd be a great adventure buddy! I'm so excited for what the future holds - if I seem like the puppy for you, I would love to meet you! Apply today! My adoption fee is $650

Story
Hope - Female. 3 years old Beagle/Hound (BREED IS BEST GUESS ONLY) Current Weight 28 pounds Date of Birth 7/1/21 Meet Hope. This sweet beautiful girl was left abandoned at the gate of the shelter in Alabama. She sat there and waited for someone/anyone to rescue her. Thank goodness help arrived by the amazing people at the shelter and took her in. Upon arrival it was quick to notice she had “something” going on with her mouth and eye, and though no rescues can really afford expensive medical conditions we just knew we could not leave her there. A wonderful person stepped up and we got her to Illinois. She immediately went to our vet here where it was determined that yes this poor girl had been through some trauma (either human or vehicle there was no way of knowing) and her diagnosis was 2 horrifically cracked teeth in the back of her mouth along with eye damage. After a pressure test was done it was determined this poor girls eye had so much pressure it’s like living with a constant migraine and it was recommended that it be removed. Hope’s surgery went very well and she’s now fully healed. Though she may only have one eye (this does not take away from her cuteness or personality) she’s still the most loving animal and is now pain free ready to find her forever family. Here’s what her foster mom said about her…. Hello, my name is Hope. My foster told me I'm a good girl and very sweet. I also like to snuggle with her in bed. I have lots of toys that I chew on and take them outside to play too. I have dug a few holes in the yard, but my foster filled them in and I haven't dug them again. I have been with 3 little dogs and don't mind them at all, I try to play with them, but they are older and don't play much. I think I would do better with little bit older kids because when I get excited I sometimes jump. But I calm down fast. I might be shy at first but I warm up quickly. She is house broken and with a little more training would do well on a leash with walking. (She’s probably never had this). She likes car rides and usually just falls asleep in the seat. Also she doesn’t mind being crated but sometimes doesn’t go in on her own. She’s great with any human, kids and dogs. She loves to play. Fenced in yard would be a plus. If Hope sounds the perfect fit for you and your family, please visit the rescue website www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org for requirements, process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $400.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Medical included is as follows: Spay/Neuter (age appropriate) *Forever Home uses Fox Valley Animal Welfare League in Aurora, IL Age appropriate core vaccines Fecal testing and deworming Flea and tick preventative Free 1st Vet visit at one of our participating vets Microchipping Forever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any applicant.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Hi, I'm Jinny!  I am a sweet & petite little thing with a big ole' personality!  I am around 4-5 years old and weigh 25lbs.  I came from a hoarding case down south, so I am used to living with other dogs but I am especially fond of my foster parents.   I adore attention and will let you know if you haven't given me enough!  My favorite thing EVER is to get belly rubs. I'll stop, drop & roll, anytime for them!  I enjoy playing with the other dogs in my foster home, hanging out in the yard and curling up in a cozy spot...even if it's a laundry basket.  I can go into a crate but it's not my favorite thing, since I'm not around people.  I've been well behaved in my foster home and don't really get into anything while they are away at work.  I appear to be potty trained and use the doggy door at my foster home.   As most beagles are, I'm quite the talker sometimes, so no apartments / condos / non-soundproof townhomes for me please.  I'm really the sweetest girl and will make a wonderful companion. Jinny's Adoption Fee is $350, she is spayed, up to date on vaccines & microchipped. *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
If you are interested in SKIPPY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SKIPPY is one of the most gentle souls in all the universe. He has deep brown heart melting eyes that always seem to be in awe of the big bright beautiful world around him. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. If you are lucky enough to have sweet SKIPPY take a piece of your heart into his paw, he will hold on to it forever! To see even more pictures of SKIPPY, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/76fl8xixj60rfhyw0b3bs/AHB_bHWP1rVPd5FePq2DZUE ?rlkey=s96qez6fhllqlykv5nyoksi0t&st=8hhkalud&dl=0 SKIPPY is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $540 adoption fee covers his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the midwest For an adoption application on SKIPPY click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
FAST FACTS:*5 Years Old - Medium Size*Active and Affectionate Personality*Loves Fetching Balls, Running, and Cuddling*Older Children (10+ Years Old)*Only Pet*Potty Trained*Fenced Yard RequiredBIO:Awooooo! My name is Little Louise (Lilly for short), and I am an affectionate an active beagle mix who would love to be your devoted best furry friend. Like many beagles, I am very attached to my people and will always greet you with excitement when you come home from work or errands. Try not to smile when my tail wags and ears flop while I ask for hugs and pets upon your return, I dare you! I would do best as your one and only pet in the house: I do well with other dogs at doggie daycare, but at home I am an attention hog and can get jealous of other pets when they have your focus. I would also prefer any children be on the older side (10+ years old) just because I am an excitable girlie and wouldn't want to accidentally hurt one of my tiny human siblings when I am being silly. I have a variety of interests including going for walkies to sniff and explore, cuddling with my family (my favorite spot is under the covers near your feetsies to help keep them warm at night!), and most especially running zoomies around the yard and chasing thrown balls or sticks. My ideal forever home will have a fenced yard so we can play fetch together every day - doesn't that sound like living the dream? You can also call me little miss smartypants, too: I am already potty trained and know commands including sit, down, and shake. In pretty typical beagle fashion, sometimes I am too smart for my own good and can find creative ways to try and escape. For example, I know how to open doors that have lever handles instead of knobs. Crazy smart, right!? So I will thrive with attentive humans who will keep an eye on me and keep me out of trouble. In return for your protection and love, I can promise a lifetime of laughs, amazing snuggles, and devotion. I hope you fill out an adoption application soon because I am ready to settle into your home and heart!Love,Little LouiseIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
