Story
Delight has big brown eyes that will melt your heart and a delightful personality to go with them. She is a happy and sweet girl that likes to be with her people and cuddle next to them on the couch. She joyfully plays with toys, enjoys chew toys, and tummy rubs!  She is on medicine due to damaged caused by heartworms. However, she still enjoys a typical walk around the neighborhood. She has a tendency to dash at cars while on walks so her forever person would need to be able to handle that.  She would be the perfect dog for a person or couple looking for a lower-key companion to curl up this winter. We are looking for her to be the only dog in the home. Her adoption fee has been sponsored which means the adopter pays no fee. However, a adoption application still needs to be submitted and approved. Who can open their home to this sweet girl?October 28, 2024, 9:38 am

Story
Meet Simone! One of those dogs that just tugs the heartstrings. Why Simone? She gave birth the day before she came into our shelter, due to her poor conditions, malnourishment, mange, none of her babies survived past a day. She was in a dark place just like Simone Biles was after the 2020 Olympics. Simone the human came back better than ever and won gold, and we believe Simone the dog will do the same! After 10 days in foster care she has gained weight, has some fur growth and has discovered playing with toys is fun! She has mastered crate training and going potty outside. She is looking for an adopter that will love and teach her as she continues to heal. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. Story
Meet Maggie Mae, our golden oldie with a zest for life and a heart as big as her love for snacks! This 10-year-old Beagle/Lab mix might be a little “chonky” at 55 pounds, but she’s ready to trade her couch potato days for walks and a healthy lifestyle. With her spunky attitude and endearing mischievous streak, Maggie will keep you smiling every day. Maggie is sweet, cuddly, and oh-so-affectionate. She’s happiest curled up next to you, soaking up all the love. When it’s playtime, she enjoys chewing on toys (bonus points if they’re tough enough to keep her busy). Though her energy bursts are short and sweet, she settles down beautifully for long snoozes or cuddle sessions. Maggie is mostly house-trained but needs a little help keeping on schedule—when she signals, she means business! She does wonderfully in her crate at night and settles down after a brief fuss during the day. While she gets along well with calm dogs who enjoy peaceful coexistence, she’s not interested in rowdy playmates. She hasn’t met kids yet, but her foster believes she’d do great in a family with older, respectful children who can appreciate her gentle nature. Maggie is also a curious girl with a knack for finding laundry, countertops, and, yes, trash cans. She’s not shy about asking for snacks (barking her requests). Her ideal family will keep her on her toes with structure, positive reinforcement training, and lots of supervision while she learns her manners. A tidy home is a must for this mischievous gal—where temptation is out of reach. Maggie Mae isn’t just a dog; she’s a partner in cuddles, a walking buddy, and a comedian all rolled into one. She needs a family who will appreciate her playful personality while helping her refine her house manners. If you’re ready to open your heart to a girl with lots of love to give and a zest for life, Maggie Mae is ready to meet you! Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet George, a 24-pound, 7-year-old Beagle mix with a heart full of love and a laid-back approach to life. This house-trained gentleman has a soft spot for cozy blankets and would happily snuggle up with you all day long. If you’re looking for a low-energy companion who enjoys short walks and quiet days at home, George is your guy! George is good with cats but would thrive as the only dog in the home—he values his personal space and prefers to keep it that way. While he hasn’t met young children, his foster believes he’d do best in a calm household with older, respectful kids who understand his shy and reserved nature. He’s already mastered “sit” and is ready to learn more at his own gentle pace. He’s a loyal, cuddly friend for someone who appreciates a quieter, more introverted pup. If you’re searching for a snuggle buddy who will love you unconditionally, George is waiting to meet you!  His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Truvy, a charming 7-year-old Beagle mix weighing 43 pounds. Truvy is both house and crate trained, though she much prefers choosing her own cozy spot to sleep in the house. A fenced yard would be ideal for this curious girl, as she loves to explore at her own pace, using her hound nose to sniff every corner of her surroundings. Truvy gets along well with both dogs and cats and, while she hasn’t been around children yet, she’d likely do well with respectful kids. Her foster mom describes her as friendly, outgoing, confident, happy, and playful—a typical Beagle in many ways, but surprisingly not very vocal. Truvy does have a quirky side: she’s a bit of a picky eater and will occasionally stash her food or treats under blankets or in corners for later. Outdoors, she’s a slow walker who loves to follow her nose, sometimes pulling on the leash when a particularly interesting scent catches her attention. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who enjoys life’s little pleasures—like sniffing adventures and outdoor strolls—Truvy is your girl! Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
