He is making great progress on his leash walking and basic obedience in his foster home. His foster family works with him daily and he is eager to learn. He also loves toys and can often be found carrying one around the house. Gustav can be dog selective and does better meeting new dogs with a slow introduction in an open area. He could also be an only dog with no problem. Gustav loves car rides especially to get a pup cup or go through the bank drive through. You can see how much he has changed from his photos – he came to TBBR with an injured leg, itchy skin, and no fur on his tail or nose. He has transformed into a very handsome guy! Wilson loves to walk and has good energy for an older guy – he loves a good squeaky toy and will bring it back to you time and time again. It’s clear he has not had a lot of love in his life, so he will follow you everywhere. He needs at least two walks a day to help him with his anxiety. He also loves riding in the CAR! He will curl up next to you in the evenings on the couch and will sleep quietly on a dog bed at night. Wilson has just completed a training camp and he is doing much better with his reactivity around other dogs. He is food motivated and eager to please; he will sit nicely for a treat and “shake” his paw. He would prefer to be an only dog but could be placed with a female dog if you are willing to work with him. He also needs a household without small children as he can get a little grumpy if you touch his leg in the wrong spot. He has not been tested around cats but does not seem bothered by them. Zoe is a wonderful, loving and loyal dog. She can be very active or relaxed on the couch. She will try to sit on you as soon as you sit down. Zoe is very timid and needs time to warm up to new people. I would not recommend a household with different types of pets. She was great with children, but none have been around her for a few years now. I'm physically and mentally not able to keep her and I need a good home for her. It will most likely take a couple of meetings before she can get comfortable so I need someone who's willing to work with me, and her. I have a professional trainer that will help me rehome her.

Almost every single day either Duke's foster mom or foster dad says, 'Duke is a really good dog!' - because he is! Please be sure to check out the video clip below. He is a well behaved, good looking fellow. Duke has been in his foster home for several months now and his disposition has been exemplary. Although he is definitely into lizards and squirrels his recall is amazingly good and he will run to you and sit down right in front of you. Most often he has a happy grin on his face. He also crates very well as long as there's a promise of at least a small treat for him when he goes in. His crate is where he has his meals and sleeps at night. House training has been excellent from day one. Duke is moderate energy but really needs a fenced yard and he could jump a 4 ft fence easily. He does like to run but also enjoys just lying about surveying his property and watching for the squirrels and lizards! He loves affection and, although he doesn't pester or beg for it, he's ready anytime you are! Duke is wonderful at just curling up next to you on the couch, content to be at your side. With a past shadowed by fear and uncertainty, he has found his way into the warmth of a loving foster home. His gentle spirit shines through with every wag of his tail. Wary at first, he was cautiously approaching for a quick lick or sniff and now, although still tentative, he is seeking affection and reassurance, opening his heart to his foster dad's kindness. Vinny definitely enjoys playful romps with the other dogs and loves being outdoors. His housebreaking manners and lack of destructiveness when left outside of his crate when Dad is gone for an hour or two speaks volumes about his inherent desire to please. He loves to be outside smelling everything and does have a beautiful beagle bay when on a scent. He's very obedient though, so his foster mom lets him do his thing for a bit and then brings him inside. Kris loves mealtime but has no issues with sharing his bowl! He's very good with other dogs. He sleeps on the sofa, in a lounge chair or in a dog bed - wherever, and he doesn't mind if another houndie wants to share his space. Kris has also begun to take an interest in squeaky toys. He will run around with them in his mouth and then take them all outside. :) Kris came to us in mid April from a wonderful rescue organization in Mississippi. He is estimated to be about 14 years old but his activity level is perfect for his age - moderate with plenty of time to relax and smell the roses. He is positive for heartworms but the advice of more than one veterinarian is not to treat.
