Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Winnie the Pooch!** Age: 1.5 years   Breed: Beagle/Hound Mix   Weight: 32 lbs   Winnie is a lovable, affectionate cuddle bug who starts off a bit shy with new people but warms up quickly, especially if there’s a toy involved.  She adores her playthings (and would rather keep them to herself!) and has the cutest "butt wiggle" dance when she sees her favorite people. Picture her in a little belly dancer skirt—she’d rock it! Winnie’s a pro at snuggles, giving gentle “hugs,” and making people smile with her happy, friendly demeanor. She’s house-trained and crate-trained, with an adorable routine of “outside time” she just can’t get enough of! While she’s got no leash-pulling, she’s got a zigzag style that adds to her charm. **Quirks:**   GREAT with dogs, cats, and kids Enjoys her meals solo – mealtime privacy, please!   Not a fan of car rides (motion sickness alert!), but give her a leash, and she’s ready for an adventure, even if it’s a bit of a zigzag! Winnie would love a cozy home to call her own.  Adoption fee: $250   Home visits required and non-negotiable Adoptable through The London Sanctuary  Fostered in Jacksonville, FL.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 12, 2024, 10:54 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Pete. He is an almost 7-year-old, 42-lb. tricolor beagle. He has big, expressive brown eyes and long, floppy ears. His medium-sized, muscular body and wagging tail make him an adorable and sturdy companion. Pete is friendly, curious and affectionate. He has a lively and playful spirit but the hound in him can also be quite stubborn and determined, especially when following an interesting scent. He is intelligent and enjoys problem-solving activities. Pete loves to explore and go on walks, using his keen sense of smell to track scents. He enjoys playing with toilet paper rolls and toilet paper lol. He’s fond of belly rubs and cuddling with his favorite humans. Pete also loves to lie down and sit in high places where he can see everyone or look out the window. Pete is not fond of loud noises or sudden changes in his environment. Initially, he can be leery of strangers but warms up quickly with some gentle coaxing. Pete is good with children and gets along well with other dogs. He is wary of men at first but will give tons of love once he feels safe. It is unknown how he interacts with cats. Pete is a bit of a couch potato, loves snuggles and is a total sweetheart. He is looking for a family that will give him the love and attention he deserves. Pete is a very low-energy pup.    Up until Pete came into our rescue, he had not had a great life and his health was extremely neglected. He arrived to Lil Rascals with hair only on his feet. Many people would describe his skin "elephant skin." He was in pain and miserable. After 8 months of intensive care by our vet and his wonderful, loving foster family, Pete has regrown practically all of his hair back and is a new dog who feels good and looks great. But he doesn't have normal hair follicles and never will, so he will always need continued maintenance. Right now that's routine bathing 2-3x a week with a medicated shampoo. He will also need a regular Cytopoint injection for itching.   Whoever adopts Pete is a very blessed family. We are requiring a fenced-in yard for him to go out and explore and take his time to go potty. He does have some separation anxiety, so someone who is home most of the time and has other pets to keep him company is what is preferred for Pete. Someone with hound experience would be a bonus. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Pete, please complete an app and tell us more about your family. November 5, 2024, 7:56 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
Milla is a 4-month-old Beagle/Terrier mix weighing 14 pounds. She is the sweetest little girl! She came to an event on Saturday and she was the hit of the place! For the first 5 minutes she was shy but then she was a bundle of personality! She was constantly wagging her tail and looking for attention from everyone who passed. She loves children and everyone. She is just a great dog! Her adoption donation is $400 which includes her spay (when she’s old enough) puppy vaccinations and microchip. She is too young to be heartworm tested. She is at a foster home so we are requesting an approved application prior to the meet and greet.
