Story
heartbroken to write this. Oreo is an amazing dog, Very adventurous and loves the wild. Unfortunately due to the fact that he doesn’t get along with cats we can’t keep him due to our family’s living situation at this time. He is house trained. We adopted him when he was either 3-4 yrs old. We have him for about 7 years now. Breaks my heart but we need to find him a new home.

Story
Prosciutto is special beagle that spent the first year of his life with a breeder and was going to used to animal testing. He was apart of a 4000 beagle rescue in Virginia. Prosciutto is great with kids. Prosciutto has been around 2 small boys and is sweet as can be around them. He does need to be an only dog though as he can be reactive due to his past. Prosciutto has lived with our other dog the last 3 years but if food or a wrapper drops on the floor he is very reactive to our older dog. He has been boarded several times with other dogs with no issues. Prosciutto would make a great family dog or another beagle lover.

Personality: Friendly, Stage 5 clinger Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Unknown (ignored the only cat he met) House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Pluto is a fun hound mix in his "awkward teenage" stage. He is silly, playful, and eager to please. Watching him chase his tail is hilarious and entertaining. If you want a cuddler, look no more. He does have puppy tendencies of jumping and being very mouthy/nippy. Pluto is housebroken with just a few accidents (his number one priority is playing when he gets outside vs potty). He’s learning leash manners and could use some practice, but he is learning fast. He literally learned SIT in less than 5 minutes. He goes into the crate on his own and with no issues. He likes to take naps and stash toys in there, although he briefly protests when the crate closes. If you’re looking for a sweet and loyal companion who will follow you around and just want to be close, Pluto might be the perfect addition to your family. Story
It is with a heavy heart that we are looking for a new home for our beloved Baxter. He has been a loyal and loving companion for the past 11 years, bringing so much joy and warmth to our family. However, due to changes in our family circumstances, it has become incredibly difficult for us to provide him with the time and care he deserves. Baxter is a sweet, affectionate Beagle with a gentle soul. He loves belly rubs, sniffing out adventures on walks, and curling up next to his favorite people. His expressive eyes and wagging tail have been a constant source of happiness, and he has always been wonderful with children and other pets. Baxter is house-trained, well-mannered, and still has plenty of energy to enjoy the simple joys of life, whether it’s a game of fetch or a cozy nap in the sun. We are looking for a family or individual who can provide him with a loving and stable home where he can continue to thrive.

Story
Mylo is a charismatic 6 month beagle mix breed. He's really energetic, playful and loves to cuddle. Great around other pets and kids. Housebroken long as a regular schedule is kept if not he may have an accident but it's not common. All shots are up to date including rabies vaccine! One thing about this guy is he loves his sniff walks once you head outside that nose gets too running. Besides that basic obedience training would be a plus to get him a bit more comfortable in new environments. He's also microchipped!

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Penny is such a precious girl! She follows her foster mom everywhere. This approx. 1 1/2yo, 17lb. beagle/chihuahua mix just wants to be with her person. Have to leave for a while? She is at the door to greet you when you arrive home. She is not destructive so there is no need to crate her. She loves sleeping in the human bed next to her foster mom, all wrapped up in a blanket. She sleeps all night without having to go out. Her favorite toy is a Christmas pickle that crackles - even goes to get it when told to “find your toy.”  When she first came into our rescue, she was very pregnant - and soon had 9 adorable babies, which she took excellent care of.  At first, she was quite shy and it took her some time to get comfortable. She did not know how to walk on a leash, and would not move when her foster mom tried. She is doing so much better now and loves her walks - going 4 times a day (up to 2 miles at a time), and readily does her business. There were a few accidents in the house at first but not many. Her shyness also makes her frightened of new people, and she barks and hides when visitors come into the home. She allows pets when held though, showing no aggression, but she will tremble. Due to her fear of people, we are requiring an all-adult, calmer home only, or if the home has kids, they be older, quiet and respectful. Penny would benefit by having another calm dog in the home to give her confidence. She has not been introduced to cats, but we believe she would be fine with a chill cat. Whoever adopts Penny will need to be patient with her shyness, and not put pressure on her until she's ready to show you her true self; she needs to go at her own pace. But once she warms up, she will not want to leave your side. Penny is a super sweet girl and bonds deeply to her person. We are wanting someone for her who can be home with her more often than not. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Penny, please complete an app and tell us more about your family. February 9, 2025, 12:50 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Roscoe is such a sweet beagle boy with the softest, longest ears ever! He is estimated to be 1-2 years old and weighs 28 lbs. He is great with other dogs and people, including kids. He is not cat friendly. Roscoe will rest most of the day or sun himself in the yard, but he also likes a good play session every once in a while with his foster dog brother. He has a dash of fomo lol and wants to keep you in his sights and always know what’s going on. Roscoe loves food and is either very treat motivated or learned to sit by watching his foster brother. He is very verbal and will guard your house with a good ole hound howl. Roscoe enjoys a good car ride and wants to sit in your lap to help you drive, even though he’s too big for that. He is mostly house trained, but may have an accident occasionally while he settles in. He is still fairly young and doesn’t know the difference between his toys and a kid's stuffed animals, so might be motivation for your kids to keep their stuff picked up! He walks well on a leash, and in true hound fashion, he wants to stop and sniff a lot. He also is insistent in meeting every dog that crosses his path, being very vocal in his stance to make friends. He can definitely benefit from professional training to learn better manners when coming across another dog on walks. He sleeps fine in his crate at night, but would much prefer to sleep in the human bed. He loves soft squishy beds but don’t forget a blanket. Precaution needs to be taken so he doesn't run out an open door. We are requiring a secure fenced yard for him. Someone with hound experience would be best for Roscoe. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Roscoe, please complete an app and tell us more about you.       February 16, 2025, 10:04 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Duke is a very sweet dog, who needs a quiet household. It takes him a while to become acclimated to new people. He is currently in a foster home with a wonderful man who came to visit him here at the shelter multiple times to spend some time with him before he was ready to take him home. Duke is very happy in his home and loves to explore the yard. He has discovered that Duke does not like to be left alone for very long. He does not tear things up or destroy anything, he just gets nervous and shakes when he's alone for an extended period of time. We would like his permanent home to have someone home most of the time (work from home or retired) to keep him company during the day. Since he does not do well meeting new people he should not be walked in a busy community where strangers might want to come up and pet him. He will either need a backyard where he can safely run and play or live somewhere there is minimal walking traffic. Duke is a good dog and it is definitely worth the extra time it takes to get to know him :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 2:38 pm
