Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Name: Pluto Mercury (named by a 4 year old while at Kennedy Space Center) Status: Available for adoption Medical Status: Healthy Weight: 38 lbs Age: 1yr Sex: Male (neutered) Breed: Beagle (and other hound breeds) 46%/Australian Cattle Dog 31% other 23% = 100% FUN!! Personality: Friendly, Stage 5 clinger Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Unknown (ignored the only cat he met) House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Pluto is a fun hound mix in his "awkward teenage" stage. He is silly, playful, and eager to please. Watching him chase his tail is hilarious and entertaining. If you want a cuddler, look no more. He does have puppy tendencies of jumping and being very mouthy/nippy. Pluto is housebroken with just a few accidents (his number one priority is playing when he gets outside vs potty). He’s learning leash manners and could use some practice, but he is learning fast. He literally learned SIT in less than 5 minutes. He goes into the crate on his own and with no issues. He likes to take naps and stash toys in there, although he briefly protests when the crate closes. If you’re looking for a sweet and loyal companion who will follow you around and just want to be close, Pluto might be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this adorable guy today—Pluto Mercury is ready to find his forever home! Adoption Fee: $250.00 **Included:** - Neuter - Up to date on all vaccines - Microchipped - Crate, bowls, some favorite toys (foster providing to adopter) Adoption Requirements: Home visits required and non-negotiable Adoptable through: The London Sanctuary Fostered in: Jacksonville, FLVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 8, 2025, 12:08 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Penny is such a precious girl! She follows her foster mom everywhere. This approx. 1 1/2yo, 17lb. beagle/chihuahua mix just wants to be with her person. Have to leave for a while? She is at the door to greet you when you arrive home. She is not destructive so there is no need to crate her. She loves sleeping in the human bed next to her foster mom, all wrapped up in a blanket. She sleeps all night without having to go out. Her favorite toy is a Christmas pickle that crackles - even goes to get it when told to “find your toy.”  When she first came into our rescue, she was very pregnant - and soon had 9 adorable babies, which she took excellent care of.  At first, she was quite shy and it took her some time to get comfortable. She did not know how to walk on a leash, and would not move when her foster mom tried. She is doing so much better now and loves her walks - going 4 times a day (up to 2 miles at a time), and readily does her business. There were a few accidents in the house at first but not many. Her shyness also makes her frightened of new people, and she barks and hides when visitors come into the home. She allows pets when held though, showing no aggression, but she will tremble. Due to her fear of people, we are requiring an all-adult, calmer home only, or if the home has kids, they be older, quiet and respectful. Penny would benefit by having another calm dog in the home to give her confidence. She has not been introduced to cats, but we believe she would be fine with a chill cat. Whoever adopts Penny will need to be patient with her shyness, and not put pressure on her until she's ready to show you her true self; she needs to go at her own pace. But once she warms up, she will not want to leave your side. Penny is a super sweet girl and bonds deeply to her person. We are wanting someone for her who can be home with her more often than not. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Penny, please complete an app and tell us more about your family. February 9, 2025, 12:50 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Roscoe is such a sweet beagle boy with the softest, longest ears ever! He is estimated to be 1-2 years old and weighs 28 lbs. He is great with other dogs and people, including kids. He is not cat friendly. Roscoe will rest most of the day or sun himself in the yard, but he also likes a good play session every once in a while with his foster dog brother. He has a dash of fomo lol and wants to keep you in his sights and always know what’s going on. Roscoe loves food and is either very treat motivated or learned to sit by watching his foster brother. He is very verbal and will guard your house with a good ole hound howl. Roscoe enjoys a good car ride and wants to sit in your lap to help you drive, even though he’s too big for that. He is mostly house trained, but may have an accident occasionally while he settles in. He is still fairly young and doesn’t know the difference between his toys and a kid's stuffed animals, so might be motivation for your kids to keep their stuff picked up! He walks well on a leash, and in true hound fashion, he wants to stop and sniff a lot. He also is insistent in meeting every dog that crosses his path, being very vocal in his stance to make friends. He can definitely benefit from professional training to learn better manners when coming across another dog on walks. He sleeps fine in his crate at night, but would much prefer to sleep in the human bed. He loves soft squishy beds but don’t forget a blanket. Precaution needs to be taken so he doesn't run out an open door. We are requiring a secure fenced yard for him. Someone with hound experience would be best for Roscoe. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Roscoe, please complete an app and tell us more about you.       February 18, 2025, 12:36 pm
