Story
Meet Bella – the ultimate pup ready to become your new best friend! Bella is 90% potty trained, a quiet and calm companion who doesn’t bark, and she's already picking up all the basic commands. We like to call her Miss Manners because she’s always seeking permission and showing the utmost respect for her humans. This sweet girl is a fan of stuffy and hard chew toys and loves nothing more than a cozy bed to nap in. When Bella gets the zoomies, you’ll be in awe of her joyful energy – it’s impossible not to fall for her playful spirit! Bella is great with other dogs and is currently working on her resource guarding of food, but she’s easily redirected with a little patience. She’s also crate trained and harness trained, making her a breeze to care for. Above all, Bella is 100% love trained – she’s ready to shower you with affection and bring so much joy into your life. If you're looking for a sweet, well-mannered, and loving companion, Bella is your girl! This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2288497##

Adoption Fee: $475 All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped From the foster: Freya is the sweetest mama! When we first got her, she was shy and timid but soon wagged her tail like crazy. She’s quite perplexed by the snow so she currently and successfully uses the bathroom on a pad! Right after, she lets me wipe her paws with no issues. At the end of the day, she’s looking for a person (preferably a woman) that will cuddle with her. If someone is interested in showing this sweet girl the world, she would make the best companion! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

He loves to rough house with his brother and foster brother. He likes to talk smack when they are playing but is a pretty quite chill guy when not playing. He is a little reserved at first and likes to check things out on his own time. He is doing well with potty training. He is food motivated and loves toys. He is going to make a great best friend he is so sweet and will definitely put a smile on your face. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Please read description Meet Fritz! This sweet 8-year-old Beagle mix may have a few special needs, but he’s still full of love and ready to be your loyal companion. Fritz is deaf, has cloudy eyes, and is living with elevated kidney levels and arthritis in his hips and back legs. Despite these challenges, he gets around just fine and would love to follow you everywhere as your devoted shadow. Fritz enjoys being outside, and every now and then, he gets a burst of energy and trots around with joy. He’s comfortable navigating stairs, uses a pet door, and goes potty outside. While he does sleep a lot, he still has plenty of love to give, especially when it comes to neck scratches! Currently on a special kidney diet and pain medication for arthritis, Fritz is a calm and easy-going 36-pound pup who just needs a soft landing for his golden years. Sadly, he was abandoned during the holidays, but he’s ready to give his heart to a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days. Please consider making Fritz a part of your family. We’re asking for a $150 adoption fee to help with his care. Let’s make sure Fritz has a warm home and a wonderful Christmas! Apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.org January 4, 2025, 12:03 pm
