Story
Please read description Meet Fritz! This sweet 8-year-old Beagle mix may have a few special needs, but he’s still full of love and ready to be your loyal companion. Fritz is deaf, has cloudy eyes, and is living with elevated kidney levels and arthritis in his hips and back legs. Despite these challenges, he gets around just fine and would love to follow you everywhere as your devoted shadow. Fritz enjoys being outside, and every now and then, he gets a burst of energy and trots around with joy. He’s comfortable navigating stairs, uses a pet door, and goes potty outside. While he does sleep a lot, he still has plenty of love to give, especially when it comes to neck scratches! Currently on a special kidney diet and pain medication for arthritis, Fritz is a calm and easy-going 36-pound pup who just needs a soft landing for his golden years. Sadly, he was abandoned during the holidays, but he’s ready to give his heart to a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days. Please consider making Fritz a part of your family. We’re asking for a $150 adoption fee to help with his care. Let’s make sure Fritz has a warm home and a wonderful Christmas! Apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.org December 12, 2024, 7:16 pm

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Must have a fenced-in yard 5` or higherMust have another dog (small/medium sized) to help with confidenceNeeds an adult only homeMeet Knight, Our One-Year-Old Beagle Extraordinaire!Knight is a sweet, skittish boy who’s making incredible progress in his foster home. His happiest moments are spent in the yard with his dog friends, where his tail wags so fast it’s like a blur of joy. A connoisseur of crunchy treats, Knight loves apples and bell peppers—his appetite rivals that of an NFL player, and he’s even been known to sneak a bite from his foster siblings’ bowls if no one’s watching.Knight is a shy explorer at heart, slowly gaining confidence in his surroundings. He loves mirrors, often using them to “survey” his space like the clever boy he is. While he won’t approach for pets just yet, he will happily take treats from your hand, showing the potential for deeper trust. At night, however, Knight transforms into the ultimate snuggle buddy. He crawls into bed with his foster, spoons like a pro, and even grumbles when it’s time to wake up—just like a human!Knight’s favorite way to relax is with a bully stick. It helps ease his anxiety, and you’ll often find him stretched out in bed, peacefully chewing away. He even shares his prized bully sticks with his foster brother, proving just how gentle and loving he can be.Knight will need a calm home with patient adopters who understand his need for slow movements and time to adjust. A confident dog sibling is a must to help him feel safe and continue his journey toward confidence. Knight is a special boy with a lot of love to give—and he’s ready to find his perfect family. Could that be you? - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
