Story
** If you are interested in adopting Maisy, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing like sweet dog energy and a little dose of silliness! They make us smile and laugh so easily with their funny, wiggly antics. After a long day, watching your dog zoom around the room is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Maisy is believed to be a Beagle / Chihuahua mix. At 2 years old and just 13 lbs, she’s the perfect size to accompany you on Colorado trails and then curl up with you for cozy snuggles at the end of the day. Maisy was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Arkansas, where she found herself after being picked up as a stray. Despite her challenging start, Maisy’s loving, playful, and curious personality shines through! Maisy is appropriately active for her age and enjoys exploring her surroundings. She’s also incredibly cuddly and sweet, making her the perfect balance of fun and affection. Her Beagle intelligence and Chihuahua charm are on full display in her inquisitive nature and adorable expressions. Maisy is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. With positive reinforcement training, she has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. She’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen her bond with her humans and build her confidence. Maisy is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Our sweet and beautiful Jade couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she might try. Jade is an 18 month old, 20 lb Beagle (with a bit of Chihuahua in the mix for that smaller size) that is just waiting to be the love of a dog-crazy family's life. The Beagle / Chihuahua mix has has grown in popularity over the last few years as an excellent family companion. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their engaging and loving temperaments, intelligence, cottony-soft coats and easygoing personalities. Farfel's makes an effort to rescue as many urgent Beagles and Chis as possible with the confidence that they'll be sweet and loving family members. Jade has all these wonderful traits and is described by her Arkansas foster as just a bit shy initially but blossoms into the sweetest lover after a short time. Jade has had a challenging period of time in her life but is now safe and sound never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all, sweet Jade doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Jade is just a young girl, she's a blank slate open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Jade and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have this sweet as can be pup become a loving companion that is very well-behaved It also creates strong bonds of love and respect between a dog and their family. Jade, while initially a bit shy due to all the changes in her life, tends to be a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together. Of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Jade gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, she's on her way to her favorite people's side for belly rubs and loving words. Jade loves to come along for a fun hike, A day of play in the park or just socializing at home will speak to this sweet girl's love of her family, Jade will always want to be there as a best friend and partner. She has such a pleasant personality and is kind and low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere. Jade wouldn't be happy spending the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home alone. She is far too people-oriented to be happy with that arrangement. A retiree or a younger family that works from a home-based office would be a great choice for our social Jade. She would love the periodic belly rubs, walks and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'll also learn that she's always loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog. Jade has a gorgeous coat that is currently shelter-sad. Her gorgeous coat will require a lifelong commitment to periodic sudsy baths / brushing and excellent nutrition, A five star food and a daily salmon oil supplement will bring Jade"s coat back to the cottony-soft and shining coat that is consistent with her breed mix. Jade has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fit into our hopes for a euthanasia - free future in the overpopulated canine world. Jade will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 2/19/2024. If interested in this very sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Izzy, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bellie is truly the “belle of the ball” in her foster home! This stunning 5-year-old brindle-and-white sweetheart pours all 40 pounds of herself into one thing: LOVE. If affection were a food group, she could live on it alone! Supremely sweet, calm, and quiet, Bellie thrives on snuggling with her foster mom and isn’t shy about using her paws to politely demand more love, pets, and attention. Bellie’s charm extends far beyond her foster home. She does wonderfully with older children and greets everyone—strangers included—with happy tail wags and a friendly demeanor. She enjoys leisurely walks (perfecting her leash skills as she goes), loves sniffing her way through grassy trails, and is an enthusiastic passenger for car rides. Her playful side shines through with her love of plush toys, filled Kongs, and lick mats. As endearing as a puppy when she plays, Bellie’s also a quick learner. She responds to her name, knows “come,” “sit,” and “leave it,” and is motivated by love, toys, and tasty treats. Crate trained and nearly fully house-trained, she’s already an impressive companion. Bellie is currently being treated for heartworm disease, so she’s taking life at a slower pace. For now, rest is key, but once she’s recovered, she’ll be ready for longer walks and plenty of playtime. If you’re ready for a lifetime of snuggles and unconditional love, Bellie, who needs a cat-free home, is waiting to steal your heart! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
