Story
Meet our beautiful purebred female Beagle "Daisy Mae" :) She was found on the bones; you were able to see all her bones/ribs. She has recovered :) She has been under our Wellness program and is in great condition now and ready for her forever home. Daisy Mae is currently being raised around a large group of dogs, including a blind dog; which she learned very quickly she is blind and respects her space. She is very special and will make a great companion. She is calm; when needed, not the typical howling or barker Beagle. However she will bark when others do. She is so funny; she has her binky blanket and loves to be wrapped around it:) Daisy Loves to ride in the car and will make a great addition to any home who will offer her a forever home so she will never be hurt again. She is crate trained and loves her crate because she knows she will get a treat. She can stay calmly in there with her treat and toys. She loves to play tag of war - and loves any toys and the ball. She can make a great family addition or be a solo companion as well. Daisy is healthy, vaccinated, and has been spayed:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? Please text at 619-576-0747 or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . Story
Nate is a 5yo chocolate Beagle. He’s friendly and good with other dogs and kids. We were told that he lived with a cat when he was about 1yo so he might be good with cats still. He’s playful and energetic. Owner surrender reason is lack of time and space for him. Nate is not housebroken, he was an outdoor dog at his previous home, so he’ll need house training once he gets adopted. We’re working with crate training to keep him indoors at night and he’s been doing very well. Included with adoption: - Wellness exam - Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies) - Fecal test (Negative results) - FLEX4 test (Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma and Lyme) (Negative results) - Heartworm/Flea/tick preventive given up to date (Simparica Trio) - Microchip with lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite) - Neuter surgery - Leash and collar - Adoption contract - Some of his current food Nate is ready to be adopted! Feel free to fill out an adoption application form if interested in adopting Nate, and we’ll get back to you. Pick up is in San Diego, CA. Transportation is also available to the right home, depending on distance.

Story
Hello, Meet Oliver the Beagle who is an energetic 40-45lbs boy in need of a loving home, who loves the outdoors and enjoys following his nose on long walks. He is intelligent, food motivated, and learns tricks easily with treats. Oliver knows how to sit, lay down, touch, twirl, and shake. One of the little games we do with him is hiding treats around the house for his nose to find, and boy does he love it. He is a very sensitive and emotional dog who will let it be known when he wants some attention. Great with young children, especially cleaning up after them when they are all done with their food. Oliver does really well with bath time but can be sensitive with his ear cleaning and nail filing. Will happily curl up next to you on the couch to watch movies with you.

Story
Beagle Mix Neutered Male 40 lbs 3 years Pakkun is a spirited mixed breed pup (almost 3 years old). We adopted him a few years ago when our work and life situation was different, and we did not have as many travel and work demands. He is an energetic pup, spirited and enthusiastic around other dogs and people, and shows his affection sometimes with his mouth. He has gone through several weeks of puppy training when we first adopted him, and an additional behavioral training course last year. He does love to go on walks and is a good running partner. He is speedy and loves to bound around like a gazelle at the dog park. He has learned a few tricks (sit, down, shake), but sometimes is afraid of unfamiliar (and familiar) things (leaves blowing in the wind, the washing machine, cars rushing by on walks). We are unable to provide the time and the attention to this kind spirit, and are trying to find him a new home before we leave the country at the end of December. If you are interested in learning more about Pakkun, please contact Ken at ken.shui@gmail.com. *PLEASE NOTE: This animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization or private party. This pet has not been evaluated medically or behaviorally by Rancho Coastal Humane Society and is not in our care. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker listed in the post for more information. Community Spotlight Adoptions are private adoptions and not processed through Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

Haley is a beautiful sweet very smart girl. Being a three year old, her energy level is high, but she also likes her naps. Haley needs to be rehomed to a family with no other pets and no small children because of her food aggression, toward other pets. We are heart broken to give her up but we have two other older dogs. Haley was adopted at four months through Baja rescue.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever home wanted!!!!  Meet Zucki the Puppy!!!! Zucki (short for Zucchini lol) recently found himself as a stray at a local shelter. Sadly his family never came for him and he like all dogs in shelters today became at risk solely due to the shelter’s space needs. That is all behind him now as Zucki is safe with us and rocking his foster home.  Zucki is an active, smart 7 month old mix in the 30 pound range. We are not sure what breed he is.  The shelter said Basset Hound but we see some doxie in there so we went with both, this is what we call a Heinz’s 57 mix breed dog and they are the Best!.  Zucki gets along with people and dogs alike and just wants to be everyone’s friend.  He's a happy, healthy , energetic puppy that already knows how to use a crate and sleep through the night.  Zucki is looking for a family that is committed to training and socialization to help him become the best dog possible.  If Zucki sounds like the right dog for your family email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Zucki is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2024, 2:46 pm

Story
Looking for a silly, outgoing, spunky and fun-loving Basset Hound and Boston Terrier mix to brighten your days? Then Heron may just be your guy! Heron originally came to us from a shelter in San Bernardino County, and he quickly made fast friends with everyone both two and four legged. His favorite pastimes at TBL include roaming the play yard with his buddies, playing fetch, going on weekend hikes with volunteers, and just being a ham for attention. You only need to meet him to know that this playful dude has a happy-go-lucky outlook on life and nothing will bring him down. Given his energy and tenacity, he would do best with an experienced owner that can keep him grounded and help set boundaries. Heron loves to give you kisses – whether your hands, arms, or face, he is not picky! He comes equipped with adorably squat legs, classic black and white coloring, constantly wagging tail, big inquisitive brown eyes, and happy smiling face. To those who know him well, and those he has established trust with, he is a very sweet, jolly, and obedient boy. Heron weighs around 30 pounds, a great size for most types of living situations. He is about 9 and a half years young (estimated DOB December 2011) but can still keep up with the best of them on long hikes and outdoor adventures. If Heron sounds like the perfect pup you have been looking for, come see if he is a match for you!If you'd like to meet Heron, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Story
Our Roger, is just a love bug:) he is a calm puppy, and loves to laid down on his bed and just give you a look with so much love of gratitude for giving him a safe and loving place to be fostered. :) he will be great with any family that will give him the time to get him out to be a busy body:) such as running, hiking, and he can even be with a laid back family as well. He has these gorgeous hazel eyes kind of green:) and we love his long ears:) A little more of his background: There were 7 total, 1 male has been adopted (Oreo) but we still have 6 boys and 1 girl left. They all have wonderful markings, of mixed breeds such as : Beagle, Bassett Hound, Labrador Retriever, Cattle- as dogs can have 7 different fathers. There are almost 4 1/2 months old now. Mama Mika is for adoption as well - however, she is a special needs dog. She was so abused that they damaged her eye and she lost it. Therefore, we had to perform surgery on her eye and removed to prevent future infections. She is very shy and so afraid of people. It will take that special angel who will have the patience with her to make her blossom again. She is coming along every day, and getting better but very slowly. She used to run from us - we left the food for her to eat and walk away. When we rescued her, she used to stuffed her mouth with food and run to the her puppies to throw up so they can eat. This is the situation when we found them up on a land-field hill sleeping inside tubes; they were about 2 months old and not getting enough food from mama so she will do this and throw up so they will eat. They had never seen people before, the poor little things were so scared. Now they are gorgeous beautiful healthy puppies waiting for their forever home. Mika is a wonderful mama who cared for the 7 of them - she is the example as how animals are just so wonderful in all ways -:) They have received all their 3 main core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Please open your home and hearts to these bundle of cuties:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? If so, Please text us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . If approved, the adoption coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a Meet-and-Greet appointment. Please allow 48 hours to process applications and respond back to set up appointments. Unfortunately, responses back to those who do not qualify are not possible due to high volume of applications. Donation Adoption fee includes up-to-date their 3 core puppy DHLPP vaccinations, spaying or neutering, deworming, flea medication, and a complementary health check up by a participating clinic near you. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!!
