Story
We acquired Bailey about six months ago due to the passing of a friend. We have recently been informed that we are not allowed to have her at our rental residence. She is a very mellow and sweet dog. She does not run off when let outside and minds very well. Bailey would be perfect for somebody that’s just looking for a companion.

Story
Chopper has landed in the OOTW program after being picked up as a stray in the Roland community. Although attempts were made to find his owners, all efforts failed. :( Chopper is a young beagle mix who weighs about 28 pounds. He is an awesome doggie and so well behaved. He is still a "puppy" and does like to chew, but we keep chew sticks for him and that's just what he needs and wants! This handsome boy is active and will need a fenced yard for safe playtime and another dog in the family would be great. Chopper must have belonged to someone because he's a polite, well-trained boy. He walks perfectly on leash with zero pulling and he enjoys his walks through the neighborhood. He is scheduled to be fully vetted in a few days. If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, start with our Adoption Application. The link is just below. Adoption fee is $150.00.To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Once your application has been processed, we'll be in contact. We cannot schedule a meet and greet without a completed application. Please go to http://ootwrescue.org/adoption to fill out an application or review our Adoption Process.Cat adoption fee is $100. Dog adoption fee is $150, unless otherwise specified.

Story
Bessie has the sweetest disposition and adores people. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home and ignores the cats. As a typical beagle, she loves her meals and treats. She isn't much interested in toys but enjoys an occasional chewie. She loves car rides and is working on her leash training. She puts herself to bed in her crate each night and snoozes in a comfy dog bed during the day. She is mostly housebroken and does well on a regular schedule. She uses a doggie door to go outside and relax in a sunspot on warm days. Bessie is not a barker and is an easy-going girl. Bessie is a beagle, about 7 years old and weighs just 34 pounds. You can apply on line at www.hsvawl.org by completing the Adoption Application on the home page.February 3, 2025, 5:43 am

Story
Willy Nilly is a handsome Beagle mix breed whose estimated DOB is 8/01/2016 and on 11/20/2024 he weighed 34 pounds. He came to us heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. His activity will need to be restricted, and he will have to be walked only on a leash until 1/4/2025. This little guy is just as sweet as he can be. If you are looking for a lap-warmer for this winter, look no further. Willy Nilly loves to be scratched at the base of his tail and does a funny little wiggle to show how much he likes it. He also loves to be close to his human for reassurance and snuggles after playtime. Come meet Willy Nilly today and warm your heart, home and lap by giving him the loving home he needs. Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.
