I’m Doobie, a cuddly, snuggly, lovable 8-year-old classic Basset Hound who’s ready for a fresh start. I came to BROOD when my family had to move, and although I was a bit sad at first, I’ve settled in quickly with my foster family!I’m fully house-trained and can use a doggie door, and while crating isn’t my thing (I’m a bit too independent for that), I’m so well-behaved that I don’t need one! Even though I’m considered a “mature” pup, I still have plenty of energy and love to play! I enjoy running with other dogs at the park and adore toys, especially chew bones. Just keep an eye on those stuffed toys, as I’m known to un-stuff them in record time!I’m quite the talker and will let you know when it’s time to go outside, when dinner’s ready, or if I’m just happy you’re home. I’m a bit sad when my family leaves, but I settle down quickly and take a nice, long snooze until they return.My ideal home would have a fenced yard since I’m not the best on leash and could use some work on my walking manners. Car rides aren’t my favorite either, as I get a bit too excited and vocal until I’m back out again! And one last note—I’m not a fan of cats, so a cat-free home is best for me.I get along well with people, children, and other dogs, and I’d love a canine sibling, though I’d also be happy as an only dog.
