Please contact Connie Kiggins (conniek@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet baby girl seeking humans to be her best friend!! OAKLEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!     Name:   Oakley        Best Guess for Breed:    Basset hound mix   Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of April 2026         SEX:    Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   25 lbs as of 4/5/26 - she has remained at this weight for a little more than a month now   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Check out this video of Oakley: https://youtube.com/shorts/oDATF3y4iPo.   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Oakley is Looking For:   Hi! Me and my sisters (there are four of us - Opal, Olivia, Olive, and Oakley) are satos from Puerto Rico. (Yes, that means our best guess for breed is just that - a guess - because we're elongated with short legs!) Growing up together has been great but now we're ready to split up and get our own human families in the DC area - we've talked it over and this is what we want: Play time - all those puppy zoomies! Snuggles and cuddles! World exploration! I promise to give you so many adoring gazes and kisses, and so much love and loyalty for all my days. What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Oakley knows who she is and is confident that you will love getting to know her! She loves other dogs and people!! She is so playful and curious. She loves toys and is a fast eater! She is the sweetest, goofiest girl who got the memo that hound dogs are supposed to sleep in weird positions and has taken that very seriously. She is going to bring so much joy to her forever family! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
BEAU IS A COURTESY POST - IF INTERESTED, EMAIL INFO@PETEY&FURENDS.ORG Name: Beau Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 10 months old (as of 1/16) Best Guess for Breed: Basset Mix Weight: About 30 lbs (as of 1/16) Lives With: Dogs and cats…and does great with all people! Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Story: Beau is a happy little guy found on the streets of DC. After a week, no owners have responded, and so his finder/foster is looking for a good home. Beau is friendly with dogs and cats, and people. His foster doesn’t have children but he has been calm and happy around them on walks. He is absolutely delightful - he loves going on walks and playing with toys, people, and his resident dog brother. He is a smart cookie and picks up on potty training and basic commands super fast. Beau could go to a home with or without other pets. He’s an ideal age for continued socializing and adapting to probably any environment. He currently lives in a city apartment and is content, though he of course is happy trotting around outside in fields. Beau is a healthy and sturdy dog; basset caretakers do have to take special considerations to protect their backs including being careful about how rough and with whom they play, and using stairs instead of jumping off furniture. He is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. If you think that Beau might be your perfect match, please email info@peteyandfurends.org.March 8, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
AdoptAPet Inquires are not an application and will be ignored. Peanut is a 2 year old Basset Hound who amazes everyone she meets with her surprising athleticism. This girl is definitely not a couch potato. She can jump impressively high and will happily play for hours on end. She loves every new human and dog she meets and is always ready to make new friends. Her absolute favorite activity is playing bitey face and wrestling with her dog buddies, and she could do it all day if given the chance. She can get vocal when excited/playing. She enjoys sitting by the window and supervising the comings and goings of everything and everyone in her site. She may bark at anyone who dares to walk by. Peanut loves going for car rides, walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is a very smart girl who figures things out quickly, sometimes a little too quickly, as she has been known to open things and help herself. If she can reach it, it’s hers to investigate and possibly chew if she decides it’s interesting enough. She is very food motivated and will try to sample everyone else’s meals, so she’ll need a family willing to continue working on boundaries and manners. She also has no concept of personal space and believes she should be in her dog friends’ faces trying to play most of the time. Because she’s so athletic and playful, Peanut would do best in an active home. She enjoys tug and wrestling with other dogs, though she’s not big on playing with toys by herself and will need active engagement to stimulate her and get her energy out. She does have a prey drive and will chase squirrels. She is not a fan of cats. Peanut would do great in a home that will keep her active, continue her training, and give her lots of love and attention. Adoption radius 60 miles from zip code 20906. Application here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire athttps://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:  Jameson  (JAM0226OWSMN) Estimated Breed: Basset Hound Mix Approximate Age:  8 yearsApproximate Weight: 55 lbsCurrently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:  $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Jameson — an 8-year-young senior sweetheart who has officially mastered the fine art of relaxation.      Jameson is the definition of a couch potato with a heart of gold. He’s not here for chaos, drama, or cardio… but he is here for cozy naps, quiet companionship, and being your loyal shadow around the house. If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who’s happiest lounging beside you, Jameson is ready to apply for the position of full-time best friend. This sweet guy is crate trained, house trained, and also semi-stimulus collar trained. He’s lived the good life before and is looking for a calm, loving home to enjoy his golden years.     Jameson can get along with other dogs, though he hasn’t been introduced to new dog friends in a while. He’d likely do best with slow, respectful introductions. He’s not the type to demand the dog park lifestyle, but he’d be willing to go if it meant spending time with his person.     Jameson does have a sensitive side — he has a low tolerance for loud noises and fast movements, such as remote-control toys or running children. He also can be wary around unfamiliar men, like handymen or first-time visitors, so he’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and love. Jameson would thrive in a quiet adult home (or a home with older, respectful kids) where life is peaceful and predictable.     If you’re someone with a soft spot for seniors and a heart big enough to offer comfort, stability, and love, Jameson will repay you with unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship. Apply today and don't let this one get away! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Alvin is a smart, energetic, cuddly hound – he’s also super handsome! He’s a very quick learner and is doing great with house manners. He goes to the door when he needs to go outside, sits nicely for treats, sleeps calmly in his crate overnight, and shares toys and plays nicely with his foster sisters. He loves to cuddle with people and other dogs. Overall, he is very quiet and saves his awesome hound bay for special occasions.
