Story
Jake is a fun loving, easy going, energetic meatball! He's about 2-3yo, UTD on shots, HW negative, neutered, & definitely a lover not a fighter! Jake is also HW negative & 62lbs! Does good with dogs & all adults! He literally just wants to be loved on & was so excited to get to go riding, he just laid by me & wanted to be touched the whole time! Jake's smile will melt your heart! He was picked up as a stray on 7-6-23. Jake LOVES to ride, walk, play, chew on Kong toys, play in water, &&&& cuddle! Because Mr Jumping Jake thinks he is Rocky Balboa, he needs to be in a house with no small kids, small dogs, or cats. Not because he doesn't like them, he is just a rough player & may accidentally plow them over. Jake does great in a crate with his Kong toys. Jake would do best with someone who will provide some structure and obedience training. He needs some help learning how to use his energetic personality in a positive way. He's super food motivated and the training possibilities are endless! He absolutely LOVES playing in the water at the local Waterpaws event! And he met tons of new friends!

Story
Steve has heart-stopping good looks, accented by his floppy ears! And nothing seems to rattle this way too cool boy, except maybe moles. We took him for a day out at a farm recently and we couldn't figure out why he kept barking at the grass. Can't say we've ever seen that before. It wasn't until the owner of the farm told us that she had moles that we figured out what Steve was carrying on about. He didn't get a chance to dig any moles up but he was definitely on the hunt! After a long day of searching for moles and meeting farm animals, Steve let us know he was tired and ready to return to New Leash on Life by jumping in the car. Of course, he got in on the driver's side but since he's only ten years old, he doesn't have his license yet. Sorry Steve! In case you're wondering, Steve is what we call a Bagle Hound, a Basset/Beagle mix. Typical of his mix, he's laid-back and easy-going, he does well with kids, and other dogs. If this cool dude sounds like he would fit in with your family, make an appointment to spend some time with Steve then you can adopt him for $75. **All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be allowed inside - especially at night and during extreme weather. No dog is allowed to be put on a "tie out or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced-in yard. ** Not ready to adopt? Help care for Steve with your donation to New Leash on Life. (Pet ID D22-125)

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $100 if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Justin, the 2.5 to 3-year-old Beagle mix who's as sweet and affectionate as they come! Weighing in at a sturdy 28 pounds, Justin strikes the perfect balance between energy and chill vibes. He's always ready for a walk or a playful chase, but also loves nothing more than to lounge around with his favorite humans. One of Justin's most charming traits is how attentive he is to your voice. He thrives on pets and praise, and he's a gentleman at mealtimes, never begging or bothering at the table. Justin knows his "sit" command and is housetrained, making him an easy addition to a Beagle-experienced household. This lovable guy is crate trained; however, he is no longer crated overnight in his foster home.  He adores going for walks, especially when there's a chance to track some rabbits. Justin gets along well with other dogs and even goats! Justin is a friendly soul, winning hearts wherever he goes. While he’s not the biggest fan of car rides, he fares much better when he can sit with his person instead of being crated. After a good dose of exercise, he's perfectly happy to join you for a cozy couch session. Justin is looking for a home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and play. He has strong hunting instincts, so he's best suited for someone who understands the Beagle spirit and can provide the structure he needs. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who’s always eager to please, Justin is your guy!    Interested in adopting? THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. November 17, 2024, 5:29 pm
