Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. This is Brody! He is a very striking guy with those ice blue eyes. He is still learning that each meal is not his last, due to his rough start in life (see history below). Brody is a happy, playful guy. He loves to play with the other fosters. He is still a little more reserved with new people as he is still learning that people are okay after all. He is healing from the trauma of being dumped at a young, vulnerable age. Brody is built differently than his sisters. He is shorter in height, with a longer body, similar to a basset hound. He does howl occasionally! He loves to play with his toys and fellow fosters and is very food motivated, making him easy to train! He does like his naps. He is doing well with his leash training. He is a mix breed dog, probably some type of hound mix. He gets along well with other dogs and kids. He does need time to adjust to new surroundings and people as he is shy to new things. He has not been around cats. He is about 4 months old and weighs about 20 lbs. His adult weight will likely be around 40-45 lbs. History: He was dumped on the side of a rural road with his litter mates at just about 5 weeks old. They were out there alone for more than a month. He and two of his siblings had evaded all attempts at being captured while others in the litter disappeared . They were scared , hungry and covered in fleas and ticks! We had severe storms in our area during that time, and they sheltered in the storms under an old set of steps which barely covered them. They really fought to survive out there on their own, and they are very grateful to be safe, loved, and well fed in their foster home. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
