Current Location: Annapolis, MD Meet Ruth Ruth is a three year old black and tan and white mixed breed with the most soulful and connective eyes you have ever seen. She will look at you and you will feel it, a quiet and genuine warmth that tells you exactly who she is before she has even had a chance to show you. She is laid back, unhurried, and deeply content with the cool calm and quiet of everyday life. She is not looking for chaos or excitement. She is looking for a soft place, a good walk, and a person who appreciates a dog who brings stillness and sweetness into a home in equal measure. Ruth takes a little time to warm up when she first meets someone new, but once she decides you are her people she is all in. Clingy in the best possible way, generous with kisses, and happiest when she is close to the ones she loves. She has a way of settling in beside you that feels less like a dog finding a spot and more like the room finding its balance. Outside she transforms into a curious and enthusiastic explorer, nose to the ground, taking in every smell and sight with the focus and delight of someone who finds the whole world genuinely fascinating. She loves walks and outdoor time and would happily spend an afternoon sniffing her way through a quiet neighborhood or a peaceful trail. Then she comes home, finds her spot, and naps like it is her calling. She is mostly crate and leash trained, fully house trained, knows sit, and is food motivated which makes her a joy to work with. She whines a little in her crate before settling but finds her calm quickly. She is the kind of dog who just needs a little patience and a little time and gives back so much more than she asks for. Ruth would thrive in a quieter home with someone semi active who enjoys daily walks and values a deeply affectionate, easygoing companion who makes every ordinary day feel a little warmer just by being in it.
