She is about 2 1/2 years old and she came to OBHR originally after being relinquished by her original owner who was having medical issues. She came to us with her housemate Fred who has since been adopted and she and Fred were the parents of the puppies we had available a little over a year ago. Since being with OBHR she has been adopted out twice, but has come back because she is possessive of the humans towards other dogs in the house. That being said she loves to play with other dogs so she is good around them and will have no issue going to a home where she will visit other dogs and go to dog parks, however we are leery about placing her in a home with other dogs. She is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs and her foster mom has had a few issues with her growling when she is on the couch with her and another one of the dogs tries to jump up, however her Foster Mom is very good about nipping that in the bud and not letting it escalate. She would very much love to keep Ethel, however she already has four dogs of her own. We would like Ethel to go to a home with someone who has owned basset hounds before and knows their personality. We would also love For her to be adopted out as an only dog so we do not have to worry about her being returned again. We would very much prefer she go to a home with a fenced in yard and she loves to run and burn off her energy. Because of her being so energetic, any children in the home will need to be at least 10 years old. Ethel is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door, and she does ignore the cats in her foster home. She is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Jimmy is an 8 year old bagel, basset beagle mix, who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. His humans went through a divorce. Jimmy is a real sweetheart, he is getting along great with the other dogs in his foster home and came from a home with kids. We have not cat tested him but wouldn't anticipate a problem as he is a timid guy. Jimmy is house broken and loves the security of his crate. He is being fostered near Dayton and his adoption fee is $200. He is up to date and neutered. If interested you must fill out the online application at ohiobassetrescue.com. Guessing Easter Beagles in there also? We don't know much about these sweeties who we have named Jelly Bean and Skittles as they have lived outside their approximate 2 years of life! But don't be sad be GLAD because they are rescued!!! These ladies do not need to be adopted together and their fees are $250 each. They will require fenced in yards and patient loving families who help them acclimate to being loving indoor pets! They are currently in Columbus and needing foster or forever homes!!! Please apply on our website and if already approved email us and please tell us in your email if you are already approved or we will direct you to apply first!
